A Jerusalem magistrate court on Sunday sentenced Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to pay a fine of more than $15,000 for misusing state funds. The sentencing comes after she agreed to a plea bargain that ended the years-long saga of just one of the high-profile corruption cases involving the prime minister's family.

The court ruling settled allegations that Sara Netanyahu had misused some $100,000 in state money on lavish meals. She was indicted on charges of fraud and breach of trust last year after the State Attorney's office accused her of running up large tabs at luxury restaurants while the official residence employed a full-time chef between the years 2010 and 2013.

The settlement saw her admit to a more minor charge of "intentionally exploiting the mistake of someone else," specifically by misleading officials who didn't realize she already benefited from chefs on the government payroll.

Under the terms of the bargain, Sara Netanyahu agreed to pay $2,800 in fines and hand the remaining $12,500 back to the state. The settlement also reduced the overspending charge to $50,000.

The prime minister and his wife have a reputation for leading indulgent lives at public expense, out of touch with most Israelis. The 60-year-old Sara Netanyahu in particular has been accused of excessive spending, using public money for her private, extravagant tastes and for abusive behavior toward her personal staff. These allegations earned her an image as the Israeli Imelda Marcos, the former Philippine first lady infamous for her collection of designer shoes.

In 2016, a court ruled Sara Netanyahu mistreated a housecleaner and awarded the man $42,000 in damages. Other employees have accused her of abuse, charges the Netanyahus reject. Another former housekeeper is currently suing Sara Netanyahu for $63,000 in damages over mistreatment and harassment.

However, Sara Netanyahu's lawyer, Yossi Cohen, portrayed his client as a victim, saying she had "been put through hell" the past four years with a public shaming campaign that was due only to her public standing.

"Sara Netanyahu is today paying a heavy and painful personal cost to put an end to this witch hunt, and I hope that indeed this is the end of the story," he said after the hearing.

Benjamin Netanyahu has stood by her, calling her a "true hero" and bemoaning how she had become a "punching bag" for their opponents.

But the prime minister himself remains the main focus of the family's repeated legal troubles. He is facing an indictment on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, pending a hearing scheduled for early October.

He has pushed for a postponement and can still request an extension from the Supreme Court.

Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of accepting lavish gifts from billionaire friends and promising to promote advantageous legislation for a major newspaper in exchange for favorable coverage. A newly elected Israeli lawmaker Gadi Yevarkan kissed his mother 's feet to show appreciation that she showed upon taking the oath of office as a member of the 21st Knesset(Assembly). He then hugged his mother afterwards.

Oyinkansola, sister to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has appealed to the Kwara State Governor-elect, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, to immortalise her father and a political icon from the state, Dr Olusola Saraki.


Oyinkansola said her late father prepared the political ground in Kwara State, hence he should be immortalised.

In a statement she personally signed, Oyinkansola also enjoined the governor-elect not to allow the political leaning of her brother and current President of the Senate stop him from honouring their father.


According to her: “Congratulations, governor-elect, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak. I am appealing to you sir to immortalise my father, Dr Olusola Saraki, the man believed to be the strong pillar of Kwara State politics during his lifetime.

The family of the late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has again denied having any relationship with late Sylvester Debe Ojukwu, who before his demise laid claim to being the first son of Ojukwu.


Addressing journalists on Wednesday in Nnewi, Anambra State, spokesman of the Ojukwu dynasty, Mr. Ifeukwu Ojukwu, described Debe, who died in Lagos on November 3, 2018, as an impostor, saying that, “the man’s real name before he changed it was Mr. Sylvester Udeh.”

He maintained that the funeral of Sylvester is not their business but entirely the affair of his family.


Ifeukwu said: “He was born Sylvester Udeh. He later changed his name to Ojukwu at the age of 21 years. Ikemba never accepted him as his child. Even now, his Will where he listed all his children, his name is not there.

“Members of the Ojukwu family have not been notified of his death and they are not aware of the burial. This man that was claimed in the obituary poster as the first son of Ikemba, had his family buying a land where they buried him.

“How can Ikemba’s first son buy a land where he would be buried? Ikemba never accepted him even in his death. He said it is the father that knows the son not the other way round. If Ikemba was a poor man, will Sylvester be coming out to claim him? He was just trying to force himself on him. So these are the questions that we should be asking.


“How can you claim to be the first son of Ikemba and there is no provision for where you will be buried? How can you change your name and the document you went to school with? He was answering Sylvester Udeh in the secondary school at Federal Government College Umuahia. People that went to school with him know him as Sylvester Udeh. That is why he can’t bring his Birth Certificate.”

While explaining that in Nnewi culture, when somebody dies, the kinsmen would be called with kola nut and drink to formally make the announcement, Ifeukwu said nothing like that has happened, “so, the family has nothing to do with the burial”.

Responding to a question on whether Barrister Debe Ojukwu should have put in more efforts while Dim Ojukwu was alive to press home the point of his sonship, Ifeukwu replied: “It’s just that we don’t consider him as one of the sons of Ikemba. After the burial of Ikemba, he sued the family, but he lost the case. Justice Abba told him that the onus is on him to prove his paternity through DNA.



“Ikemba brought Emeka to Nnewi and introduced him to his Umunna (kindred) as his first son. He did it when he was alive. When somebody writes his Will and list all his children and says anybody that is not here is the not my child, it should be taken that way.

“Sylvester Udeh, which I call him, is a complete conman. If you ask him, he will tell you that his mother was Ikemba’s first wife. His mother never married Ikemba. So how can he say his mother is Ikemba’s first wife?

“I can tell you who Ikemba’s first wife is. The first wife was a nurse, but she did not have a child for Ikemba. The second wife was Emeka Jnr’s mother. Bianca is the fourth wife because he also married Stella Onyeador from Arodinzuogu.



“Sylvester was a DSP in the police and Ikemba called former Nigerian Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, and told him that there is an impostor using his name. They later transferred him to Sokoto and a few months later he was forced to resign from the Police. After his resignation, the family became sympathetic. If someone says you are not his son, it can affect you psychologically but if I were him, I would have just gone my way. So the family became sympathetic and asked him to go and collect rent and manage the family estate on the basis of 30%. He was supposed to remit 70% to the family. This is unheard of. This guy collected the rent 100% and did not remit a dime. It is part of the reason why this happened. This case was dragged to court and judgment was given against him. It is rumoured that the judgment affected him and he died of heart attack.”

Ifeukwu noted that late Ikemba did not raise Debe in any way, neither did he pay his school fees, adding: “Sylvester met Ikemba when he was an adult. Ikemba claimed the daughter of a Hausa woman as his child, so there must be a reason best known to him why he should disown Sylvester.”

A bus filled with 51 schoolchildren was hijacked and set on fire by its driver who told them ‘no one will survive’ on Wednesday.

The driver, named as Ousseynou Sy, 47, reportedly asked the teenagers to leave the vehicle before he set it alight on the outskirts of Milan, according to Italian media.

All 51 children escaped unhurt in what is believed to be a protest against migrants drowning in the Mediterranean.

Police spokesman Marco Palmieri said: ‘He shouted “stop the deaths at sea, I’ll carry out a massacre”.’

Sy was identified by police as an Italian citizen of Senegalese origin. Firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the blaze. Twelve teenagers were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, hospital sources said.

Sy was arrested at the scene. He had been taking two school classes from a school in Vailati di Crema to a gym, but took a different route – heading for Milan’s Linate airport, local reports said. The bus can be seen in a video completely destroyed.

This comes after Italy’s Senate refused Wednesday to lift Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s immunity to face possible charges for refusing to allow migrants aboard an Italian coast guard ship to disembark at a Sicilian port.

The Etsu of Patigi Local Government Area(LGA), Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar died around the late hours of Tuesday after a short illness.

He died in Abuja and was buried in the Patigi palace on Wednesday 20th, March 2019 at 2pm.

The Senate President of Nigeria Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness and condolences over his death, he described him as a man of peace. Here is what he stated in his Twitter account:

House of Representative member-elect Kayode Akiolu (APC-Lagos), said that he took advantage of the “Not Too Young to Run” act to win the Feb. 23 election.

Akiolu, in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja said that the act paved the way for young people to seek political office in the country.

“In Nigeria today, more than half of our population are younger than 30. So, if we’re old enough to vote, we’re old enough to run for office too.

“That’s the idea behind the #NotTooYoungToRun. The campaign initially launched in support of Nigeria’s Age Reduction Bill.

”Signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 31, 2018, it has given young Nigerians like me the opportunity to serve my constituency and my Nation,” he said.

According to him, between 1999 and 2015, the average age of the country’s representatives rose from 43 to 50.5 years.

“All the while, Nigeria’s population trended younger and younger, until reaching its current median age of 18.

“As one of the first few young Nigerians who have benefited from the movement, I will make sure that the act will not be out of order.

“Let’s not forget that the absence of youth in decision-making processes in government has created disillusionment among Nigerian youths with regards to Nigeria’s political parties and the ruling class.

“Presently, Nigeria has a high unemployment rate, most of them youths, but there are lesser policies than those required to halt this problem. If the youths of a country are jobless, then there is bound to be an increase in vices,” he stated.

Akiolu said that since politics was a way addressing social issues in Africa, priority would be given to such issues when he assumed office.

He added that the interest of the people that elected him would be uppermost in his agenda.

“I scored 12,988 votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Adamoh Olagbenga, who scored 4,345 votes; the people of my constituency longed for change to get me here and I won’t disappoint them. Being a young person and having confidence in me, their interest will be uppermost,” he explained.



He stated that his constituents had conferred on him the right to legislate on their behalf and represent their interest at the House of Representatives.

Akiolu stated that such trust would motivate him to attract developmental projects to his constituency as well as to partner with the State Government in moving the state towards good governance and progress.

According to him, economic opportunity is the leading domestic issue of the time and the key to reinvigorating the economy is quality education.

Akiolu said he would work to provide ideas on improving education, training and jobs to close the opportunity gap in his constituency.

“I have vowed to increase the standard of education of my people and to ensure that more Federal Government presence is attracted to my constituency in terms of projects and social welfare interventions.

“As a legal practitioner of over a decade, I joined politics to use my experience and the instrumentality of the law to bring about positive legislation that will impact the lives of the people of Lagos Island federal constituency 2, Lagos State and the nation as a whole, ‘’ he said.

He, however, added that he would be accessible and accountable to his constituents, not forgetting the elderly, the less privileged and the physically challenged.

The Not Too Young to Run bill was an initiative pushed by about 54 youth’s organisations in the country, calling for more youth inclusion in the nation’s politics and policy-making.

The initiators requests include reducing the age required to contest for the posts of the president, governors, senators and House of Representative.

The act now provided for Nigerians to contest for President at the age of 35 and Governor or Senator at the age of 30.

It is a change from the initial 40 and 35 years limit, which was mandated by the Constitution.

The bill also stipulates “that 25-year-old people can now legislate in the National and State Assemblies across the country.”

Division 2 players may have noticed a chest in the White House base of operations that requires 8 ivory keys to unlock. Because Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment are layering The Division 2 with some secrets, like hidden bosses, the game never explains what this chest is for or how to get ivory keys.

In order to get ivory keys in Division 2, players will need to kill the Hunter bosses that are hidden around the open world map. These are the same Hunters that players can kill in order to unlock cosmetic masks. However, while the masks are a guaranteed drop the ivory keys are not.

Taking on a Hunter in Division 2 is no easy task, as they are level 35 and designed to react like a real player. We highly recommend taking a group along for attacking these Hunters, not just for the extra damage but also for a reason we will get into later.

Division 2 players have found all 12 Hunters in the game, and activating their encounter can range from fairly straightforward to a little complex. One Hunter boss, for example, requires that players shoot out a light in the dark in order to make it appear. For info on all these fights, make sure to check out our Hunter mask guide.

So for those looking to get 8 ivory keys, it is merely a matter of luck. As of yet, there is no known way to entice a drop from a Hunter; you just have to hope that RNG is on your side.

That being said, there is a way to get additional shots at the ivory keys by joining friends and taking on the Hunters in their world. Once a Hunter is dead in your Division 2 world it is gone for good (currently), but it is possible to join on a friend and help them with their Hunter. This doesn’t increase the drop rate or the odds of getting an ivory key but it does increase the chances.

As far as what the ivory key chest offers, it includes a Hunter’s Axe keychain for players’ backpacks, a white weapon skin, and a high-end weapon. The weapon will be random so players may want to wait until they are a higher gear score before opening the ivory key chest and claiming its reward. That’s a smart idea anyway because taking on a Hunter is no easy task.

The Greater Manchester Police report says the 24-year-old from Oldham was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of sending 'malicious communications'. No details has been given about the content of what he is alleged to have written.

Meanwhile, The New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has expressed deep condolences to the Muslim community and the families of the victims of the Christchurch Shooting, and has also promised that the country's gun law would be changed in the wake of the attack.

Scores of people were thought to be inside the primary school when the building crumbled during lessons today. It is not yet clear how many children have been rescued, and how many have survived.

Rescue efforts are underway, with video from the scene showing at least one child covered in dust being carried out of the rubble as onlookers cheered.

The three-storey building collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital. Hundreds of people stood in narrow streets and on rooftops of rusted, corrugated metal as a yellow excavator scooped at the ruins.

Sani Datti, a spokesman with Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency, said officials from the agency and other emergency services were at the site. ‘For now we don’t have any word on casualties as we are still busy with rescue work,’ he said.

Building collapses are all too common in Nigeria, where new construction often goes up without regulatory oversight.

The collapse comes as President Muhammadu Buhari, newly elected to a second term, tries to improve groaning infrastructure in Africa’s most populous nation.

‘Nigeria’s infrastructure is generally less than half the size than in the average sub-Saharan Africa country and only a fraction of that in emerging market economies,’ the International Monetary Fund has noted.

‘The perceived quality of the infrastructure is low.’

Audio has been released apparently showing the moment Saudi flight SV832 from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur requested permission to return to King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

The pilot says: ‘May God be with us. Can we come back or what?’ They then start talking about protocol as they’ve never experienced anything like that before.

The operator says: ‘This flight is requesting to come back…a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing.’

They then ask for confirmation of the reason they want to go back to the airport.

The pilot says: ‘We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.’ ‘Okay, head back to the gate.

This is totally a new one for us!’ Flight tracking data show the plane took off an hour late on Saturday.

As Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Kwara State takes lead in the governorship election, his supporters have taken to the streets of Ilorin to celebrate him as he is predicted to win the election.

He has polled a total of 208, 518 votes of the 11 local Government Areas(LGAs) results that have been announced while his main opponent, Hon. Razaq Atunwa has polled 72, 167 votes so far.

The APC is leading with a margin of 136, 351 votes.

The Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mr Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, is leading in the governorship election held on Saturday.

As of 9.30am on Sunday, results declared in 11 out of 16 local government areas in the state showed that the APC candidate had polled 208,518 votes.

Meanwhile, his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Mr Abdulrazaq Atunwa, polled 72,167 votes.

Hence, Abdulrazaq is leading with a margin of 136,351 votes.

The results for the remaining five local government areas in the state were still being awaited.
