@ toba you still around arguing? I believe Jehovah witness and Salafi Muslims are both annoying |
Salam Babs Jazak ALLAH kheyr Brotherhood in Islam or what we call (Ukhuwah Islamiyah) according to Imam Al nawawi is brotherhood in general so it's including Muslim and non Muslim so beside loving our Muslim brothers it's also necessary to love non Muslims which don't fight against us in the definition to hope goodness to them like guidance ease etc we must not judge anyone will be thrown to hell because as long he/she is still alive the gate of repentance will still be opened for him no matter how big his/her sins are only Allah knows the end of anyone's life The Brotherhood in Islam is not limited by country borders tribes skin colors languages or any worldly limits we should be only bound by our Aqida it is sad to notice that on this site some folks are asking others to behave in Islamic way while the same very persons still very Tribalistic and galvanize around their tribal affiliation which is nothing but another type of Jahiliya Finally (Ukhuwah Islamiyah ) Brotherhood in Islam is the quintessential for the strength of the Muslim Ummah against oppression May Almighty God counts us among His servants those loved by Him and sheltered by His shadow where there is no other shadow but His Allahumma Amin |
its never meant to u keep moving |
I don't think some Nigerian Muslims women are having issues with dating Christians I know two Hausa Hijabis Girls who are dating Christians |
@hymen Astaghfirullah from what ? lol |
The issue here is not if the Prayer can help the dead but if it is permissible you have to differentiate between Mushriq and Munafiq the Prayer that Allah commended the Prophet not to do was intended to the commander in chief of Munafiqeen Abdullah ibn Ubay and not any non believer Koran 9;84 the prayer for non believers whatever dead or alive is permissible let us begin by asking what purpose of Prayer ? when we pray for something we are petitioning Allah that this wish comes true the prayer must come from our hearts when Koran enjoin us to do Ihsan to those who are" udhil qurba " mentioned in 2:83 and 4:86 it never discriminate who the beneficiary of our acts in any form we are to do good for those who are close to us whatever by proximity geography or blood ties next the Koran asks us to treat people in better way than they treat us or at least similar way 4:86 once again the religious affiliation of these people never mentioned lastly the Koran talk about treating one's parents well and PRAY FOR THEM 17/23 - 24 once again their religion or faith is utterly irrelevant they are human being and we pray for them Koran doesn't discriminate between people in term of beliefs and Religion for you here is hadith " While we were with the Prophet SAW a man of Banu Salma came to Him and said Apostle of God is there any kindness left that I can do to my parents AFTER THEIR DEATH ? He replied yes you can invoke blessings on them Forgiveness for them carry out their finals instructions after their death join ties of relationship which are dependent on them and honor their friends " Abu Dawud |

A personal opinion Inked was absolutely an amazing smart and progressive young lady I don't agree with some of her views but I still respect her and love to nominate her |
As Muslims can we pray for non Muslims ? In my view as Muslims we should be in tune with the humanity( AN Nas ) because the Koran informs that Muslims must recognize and appreciate their humanity orientation "You are the best Nation produced for Human kind "Al Imran 3:110 therefore being inclusive in my orientation toward humanity has been natural to me as Muslim The verses Produced by Azhar here relate to " Munafiqeen "(hypocrites) who undermined Muslims by working and conspiring with" Mushriqeen" (Pagan/Polytheist) the Munafiqeen were dangerous because they were insiders to the Muslim community so the context of revelation must be taken into account in interpreting any specific verse so the believers have been asked not to pray for those who have caused injustice and aggression against them only " This verse emphasizes that we can be compassionate Just and Human "Allah doesn't forbid you to deal Justly and Kindly with those who fought not against you on account of Religion and didn't drive you out of your homes Verily Allah Loves those who deal with Equity " (60 AL Mumtahinah 8/9 ) So what kind of kindness are we talking if we can't be inclusive about others in regard to our Prayers Some of my neighbors and friends are Christians Agnostics I have found some of the most kind Thoughtful and caring People I would like them to be Muslims but if they are not that between them and their creator to whom we will all return some time I do Pray for their guidance their welfare in this life and beyond only people who are not familiar with the koran and its discourse can reach the conclusion that this prayer is unislamic |
@Babs I ask you to bring me the proof that wearing Necklace is Haram and since you can't produce it I think you have to drop the argument For the cigarette Islamic scholars had mixed views about tobacco and until recently there are not been clear Fatwa (legal opinion ) to allow or forbid cigarette smoking hence one can 't find a verse of the Koran or Hadith saying clearly that cigarette smoking is forbidden but today as the danger of tobacco use has come to be proven beyond any doubt some scholars start to think it is Haram but I don't see here the correlation between smoking and wearing necklace do you? As for your question why a man would wear necklace ? honestly I don't know since I don't wear one @uplawal your view on the matter doesn't make any difference |
@ Chakula Good job but make sure you don't miss words from Al fatiha did you notice some words are missing here ? and the Arabic spelling also need to be check |
Most important in girls ' life Independence Marriage Money and Money |
Jazak Allah Kheir I agree with the speaker that one should be careful to pass judgment on people of knowledge I also agree about the need to be humble and not to rely on translations and to learn Arabic it is incumbent upon all Muslims to learn Arabic and its not difficult so they can appreciate the Koran in its language it is very critical to know that one Arabic word might be translated in English and still not convey the very similar meaning In Arabic for example the Arabic words Fikr, fikh , fahm aql etc usually translated by understanig which is not the exact corresponding word to them and sometimes the Arabic word has no match or counter part in any language |
Yea that really sad May God give his family the strength to face his lost especially his mom |
Brother D sense since you and Rokiatu from same Religion Its time to complete your half Deen in Halal way ![]() |
Democracy doesn't work in Africa the vote always breaks down completely on tribal/religious divides Ouattara Senufo Muslim from the North and Gbagbo Bete Christian from the South Africa was better off ruled by colonialism |
I don't think it is wise to debate someone who claim that Abu Bakr Umar and Aisha to be corrupt and immoral How you guys dare to insult the Companions of the Prophet ?How dare you twist the name of Al Islam? How dare you insult the Companions of the Prophet and His wives when they were chosen by Allah Himself? Abu Bakr Umar and Aisha are the best of Muslims much more better than you and I and the adherents of your sect May Almighty Allah guide you through you guys are astray from Sirat AL Mustaqeem (right Path) I can only Pray that you repent from your sins I rest my case Fee Amaan Illah |

I hope Lagosboy don't mind helping usiky here 1- Asbabunuzul (reasons of revelations of the Koran) is an Arabic term meaning "occasions circumstances of revelations" s the secondary type of "Tafsir "(explanation) directed at establishing the context in which specific verses of Koran was revealed 2-Alnasikh wal mansukh (the abrogating and the abrogated) this technical concept refers to certain part of the Koran revelation which been abrogated by others the abrogated passage called Mansukh while the abrogating called Nasikh 3-Balagha (eloquence ) is the art of good style and communication rhetoric 4-Nahu (Arabic Grammar )In Arabic you have only three type of words Ism :Noun Fi'l :Verb Harf :Article 5-Al adab (norm of conduct ) an Islamic concept that became a literary genre distinguished by its broad humanitarian concern it acquired a further connotation of good breeding courtesy and urbanity Last I am worried what kind of Islam usiky follows when he stated that Islam has one Pillar when the Hadith says it has five Pillars "Islam has been built upon five things on testifying that there is no God but Allah and that Mohamed is His Messenger on performing Salah on giving Zakah on the Hajj to the House and on Fasting during Ramadan" Al Bukhari and Muslim |
@ Babs salam Thank you for your input and good intention If you read my post again you will see that I reiterate once again that as Muslims we shouldn't be mixing Islam and culture despite that we all come from different backgrounds and variety of cultural norms values and beliefs we abandoned most of these values and surrendered to Islamic doctrine which created among us an unified outlook and culture that why the Prophet referred to us as one Ummah (Nation) I am glad you recognized also that the Prophet SAW brought some part of local cultures into Islam and so did most Muslim scholars throughout the world I agree with you that the culture can't supercede Koran and Sunnah There is something called "Urf" referred to as customs and practices of given society most scholars agreed that "urf" holds as much authorithy as Ijma (consensus) and more than "Qiyas"(analogy) as long as it doesn't violate provision from the Koran or the Sunnah and I think clearly Leo 's necklace fits in that category I read the Koran cover to cover thousand time and there is no verse that stated or alluded that a man can't wear jewelry I will be glad to bring me a proof stating otherwise |
@ Lagosboy I addressed my views on" Khimar"(head scarf) in some of my previous posts and I think we agreed that khimar is the dress code mandated by Koran on Muslim women and not Hijab the ethimology of the words their form and meaning might have changed over time indeed a study of surat Al nur verse 31 refers to Khimar as the type of garment which I believe is wajib (obligatory) this ayah contains five commands which I will list as follow ; 1- lower the gaze 2-guard the private parts 3-not display ezzina (the adornment ) 4-draw the khimar (head scarf) to cover the Jayb (bosoms) 5-not to stamp the feet to give knowledge of hidden adornment Imam Tabari in his book Jami Albayan says that the woman is exempted from covering her face hands rings bracelets and make up As for the word"zakah" it originated from the verb 'zakka"which has several meaning like growth, increase, development, nourishment, praise oneself and all those meaning are used in the Koran in different verses |
Salam usisky I want to correct you on this one it seem obvious that you never read the Koran in its original text and you are not an Arabic speaker Stop confusing people the verse 9:97 says " AL a' rabu Ashaddu kufran wa nifaqan wa ajdaru "The translation should read as "The bedouins are Srtonger in disbelief and hypocrisy and more likely "9:97 So the Arab is the Semitic race and A a rabi is the singular of Bedouins and AL a rabu is the nominative masculine plural noun this verse was talking about the Bedouins of hijaz who were ones of the worst enemies of the prophet and not the Arabs |
According to the US census Bureau and US Health and Human services |
My take away from what bro Lagosboy has posted is his lack to grasp the meaning of some words in The Arabic language but I can't blame him for not being fluent in Arabic what I wrote was clear and maybe since English was neither my first or second language maybe lagosboy has difficulties to get my point I never meant to play any gymnastic with the Arabic language for any purpose as he alluded but I stand firm that Hijab means barrier curtain screen and not a dress code there many ayats ( verses) in the Koran in that regard Scholars who argue that Hijab is mandated based their opinions on the Hadith of Seyida Aisha RA "Aisha reported that Asmaa the daughter of Abu Bakr RA came to the Messenger of Allah SAW while wearing thin clothing He approached her and Said "O Asmaa when a girl reaches the menstrual age is not proper that anything should remain exposed except this and this He pointed to the Face and Hands " (Abu Dawud ) but Abu Dawud himself in his Sunan agreed that this Hadith Is "Mursal" (weak) the" Silsila or chain of transmission is missed so therefore it can't has basis for any Shariah Purpose your spiritual leader ibn teymiyyah stated that in several views that the consensus of Scholars is not important especially in cases where there is not clear cut on the issues from Koran and "Sihah "(Albukhari and Muslim) so one must realize that and appreciate the fact that the commandments in the Koran in chapter 33 verse 53 with respect to hijab applies only to the" Mothers of believers" ( wives of the Prophet SAW) so the Hijab was a special feature for the Prophet wives and was introduced only about five or six year before His death So the Prophet's wives due to their status and situations they occupied a position different from all other women Allah has ordained that their reward as well their punishment be double that for any other woman Please do not think I am judging by any foreign standard not wishing to recommend foreign ways like one of our Muslims narrow minded people might think I am only judging by Shariah As far as the veiling it always being a custom in Saudi Arabia Yemen Afghanistan Pakistan and India it has no Islamic basis whatsoever i found it doing more harm to the image of Islam and to the efforts of understanding |
