Sisi_Kill: Sometimes it is not the names that are funny, it's the way people "prononce"it.

What the hell is 'Alimo (for Halima)or Fatimo (for Fatima)

That just irks me angry angry

Of course there some names that not even pronouncing it with the best accents can't redeem it.

Bashira
Mukaila
Cletus

Have you noticed you rarely see people in high positions bearing these names. . .President Cletus or Honorable Mukaila or Chief Justice Bashira.

Hmmm, are parents already determining their kids future by giving them these ugly names?

Food for thought. cheesy

I really don't know any thing about Cletus, but for heaven sake, there is nothing like Bashira, it is "Basirat". Mukaila is also wrong, the correct spelling is "Mikhail" (Michael).

Jonathan-goodluck. Jonathan is jewish, while goodluck means nothing,it is the same as calling oneself CHANCES. Yet the same murderfucker is the president of an african country and people wonder why the whole country is in ruin.

Just picture a scenerio where benjamin natayanhu of isreal calls him self ebele madueke. Wont his people declare him insane?

I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU PEOPLE ARE BEHAVING LIKE KIDS EVERYTIME, IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH ALL THESE AFRICAN NAMES? AND IF I MAY ASK WHY MUST YOU LIST ALL YORUBA NAMES AND SOUTH SOUTH NAMES AS OUTDATED? ARE YOU BEING TRIBALISTIC OR WHAT? DOES IT MEAN PEOPLE SHOULD NOT NAME THEIR KIDS THE TRIBAL NAMES AGAIN? I EVEN READ SOMEOME SAYING FRIPONG IS AN OUTDATED NAME, DO YOU KNOW THE MEANING? AND IF THESE GHANAIANS GET TO READ THIS; ANOTHER ARGUMENT AND ABUSIVE WORDS WOULD START SURFACING. I AM REPORTING ALL OF YOU TO SEUN, I'VE EVEN COMPILED ALL YOUR NAMES AND ID. YOU SHALL ALL BE BARED FROM THIS FORUM.

For those of you trying to make it look like I am dispelling African names, NO all I am saying is that some names are no longer common names that pple give thier kids even English, French, Polish, Arab etc names.
Ok Now honestly,

How many of you Igbo's will proudly give your children Ginika, Inkiru, Okoro, Ekweremadu etc
How many of you Yoruba's will name your kids Ojo, Opabunmi, Kokumo, Aremu, Alake, Faleti, Fijabi, Sikira, Sule, etc
How many of Hausa's still name their kids Adamu, Sule,
what percentage of Nigerians will name their kids Istifanus, Romanus, magaret, Zaccheus, Johnbull,

Tell me now mheeew
