1st Timer In The Uk What To Do? Where To Shop And What To Expect? by sans59: 5:56pm On Jul 26, 2012
So I intend to go to the uk soon for a month vacation. I will be staying in a hotel with this zip code NW10 7DD. What will be the best way to get there? Train or a cab? Can someone give me an estimate of price and duration from heathrow to the hotel?
Where can I shop for good stuffs like clothes but relate lively cheap clothes ( not necessarily popular brands)
Where are must see sites to visit? And what are the popular clubs, nigerians go to?
Can I use my glo line for bb service there or do I just get like an o2 line there and put on my sim.
What are must eat foods, where can I hook up with the ladies? smiley

The movement and speed of transactions in London tube can be quite confusing for a first-timer. In my opinion, just take National Express bus from Heathrow to Victoria Station and from there you can connect anywhere within the UK without a hitch. Goodluck!

Take a cab, which is about 18-20mins journey from the airport, it will not cost you more than £20-40 depending on the time of the day, rush hr and late night is always expensive.

In terms of where to buy things. . simply ask the hotel receptionist or the security guard at the hotel, they know those area more and will direct you.

Since you are staying for a month, get vodafone or 02 BB package which will cost you about £5, using your glo will cost you more

Your best bet is to take the national express from heathrow to golders' green and then cab it to your hotel. This shouldn't cost more than £30 max! TK Maxx should be your ideal location to shop since you wanna buy known brands for less, for food shopping needs na tesco get you bros. Then yeah for the girls!! Lol...hit Soho on a friday night and thank me later! cheesy

From the post code you've given looks like you'll be staying at Abbey Point B&B.
One of the ways to get there is by taking the underground tube
1: Piccadilly Line from Heathrow towards Arnos Grove or Cockfosters
2: Stop at Acton Town Tube Station.
3: Piccadilly
Line to Uxbridge or Rayners Lane Tube station.
4: Stop at Alperton Station
5: Get bus 224towards Alperton StationTell the driver to stop you at Tudor Estate.
6: From Tudor Estate your hotel is less than 5 mins walk.
7: Journey summary you do 3 changes from Heathrow, journey is about 1hr3mins. Cost for your travel card to covers zones 3,4,5,6 £15.80.

a.For sites you can go to,there are too many to list depending on taste,a good website for this is www.visitlondon.com.
b.A popular club Nigerians go to is in the Hilton in Paddington.
c.For your phone go and get an Vodafone sim (free of charge) top it up with £15 and you get loads of free minutes, text, and browse time.
d.For quality cheap clothes go to Primark on Oxford street,(but you go queue tire!!)You can get 3 decent tops for £10.

Hope this helps.

Oga stay clear of London escorts, most of them are horrible looking and skinny or shapeless in my opinion.

Try to avoid Primark as well, what will you do with a polyester shirt?Tk maxx is the shop for your clothing.

There are quite a few Nigerian nightclubs in old Kent road and Peckham area.A bottle of bubbly will do the trick with the ladies.

As for getting to your B&B from the airport just ask a uniformed individual at the airport, the transportation in London is probably the best in the world.

Ok, so I went to my bank today gtb for purchase of foreign currency for basic travel allowance and was told they no longer give that since the gtb issued MasterCard can me used anywhere in the world . I have the card and it is well funded, I hope taking the card only without some foreign currency doesn't bring any issue at the point of entry.......anyone has successfully travelled to the u.k without the btw but just his or her card?

The time of your arrival will determine mode of transport but, l will suggest cab for your relaxation and comfort. It should take around 30mins and cost between £30-£40.

By your talking you should be able to visit some nice cloth shops in west end, just get off at Oxford Circus tube station - you can not miss the shops there.

There are lot of must see sites one of them been the Buckingham Palace ..... You could google attractions yourself depending of your taste of attraction.

There are some clubs on Old Kent Road eg KFC/Prince of Wales you will see Nigerian there.

Food is not a problem as there are lot of Nigerian Restaurant in the SE area such as Woolwich, Deptford and if you don't mind Peckham. Don't know much about NW area.

For phone get a T-Mobile pay as you go sim card I think for BBM is £5.

Ladies full everywhere.

Save trip.
