Funny Guy, 75% have answered wrong now; I guess u're waiting to hit ur 95% failure to prove a point huh? Smart Guy, thumbs up! |

petokey: 5+5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 x 3= ? (5+5 + 5) - (5 + 5 + 5) - (5) + (5 x 3) =15 - 15 - 5 +15 = -5 + 15 = 10 ( so i think fluid is correct) |

chikk: U've changed the question....@OP, u dey tricky oh! |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by chikk(f): 10:03pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
chikk: On a second thought (5+5+5) - (5+5+5) - (5) + (5x3) =15 - 15 - 5 +15 = 15 - 15 - 20 = -20 |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by Nobody: 10:08pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
chikk: You were correct the first time. 10 is the answer. -5 + 15 cannot be equal to -20 |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by chikk(f): 10:24pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
fluid26: yes, thats true. But if u follow BODMAS to the end, u should add before u subtract. Therefore, having (15-15-5+15), i think u should add (5+15) first before u subtract to get the final answer. @OP, DON'T JUST TELL US THE ANSWER O, MAKE SURE U SHOW UR WORKING |

Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by Nobody: 10:40pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
chikk: even @ that (15-15-5+15) We can extract the *minus sign from -5+15 to make the equation as uniform as possible, then we'd get... ==> 15 - 15 - (5 - 15) ==> -(-10) = 10 |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by Nobody: 10:51pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
fluid26: Note that this: 5+5+5-5+5+5-5+5x3 is not the same as this: (5+5 + 5) - (5 + 5 + 5) - (5) + (5 x 3). They 're two different questions....bcoz the minus sign outside the bracket will affect the + sign, giving u a (-15 ), which is different from the OP's question.... |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by chikk(f): 10:54pm On Aug 18, 2012 |
Seriallink, I only put the braces to show how i got my answer. Fluid, i think u're mistaken. What i have is (15-15-5+15) and not (15-15-5-15). But where the eff is the OP? It looks like he doesn't even know it and wants to learn! Anyway, i'm off to bed. Nice one fluid. good night. |

chikk: ^^^ aiit. U've got a point. They're both possible solutions to me. But where the eff is the OP? It looks like he doesn't even know it and wants to learn! Anyway, i'm off to bed. Nice one fluid, good night. The OP is probably tryna' prove a point. Remember he said '95% will answer it wrong'...maybe that's why it's in the joke section! |

Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by linearity: 4:53am On Aug 19, 2012 |
5+5+5-5+5+5-5+5x3 Using BODMAS =(5+5+5) - (5+5+5) - (5 + (5x3)) =15 - 15 - (5 + 15) =15 - 15 - 20 = - 20 Answer Negative 20. |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by linearity: 5:00am On Aug 19, 2012 |
fluid26: The answer cannot be 10, it is -20, remember that in BODMAS you have to group like-terms and solve them that way. |
Re: You Think You Can Solve Maths? Try This. by petokey: 6:29am On Aug 19, 2012 |
Chikk and linearity got it right. But for putin bracket before solving you ar disqualified meaning u ar wrong. 5+5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 x 3= ? Using bodmas, u simply do ur multiplication first. 5*3=15 so we have this 5+5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 15 then u do ur additions and we will arrive at this. 15-15-20 subrating finally gives u negative 20(-20). QED wow! Instead of 95% failure, i got a 100% failure. Una be olodo. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. SORRY NA JOKE O. May nobody insult me back oo. |
