On Monday, 13 August 2012, the Presidential Special Scholarship Scheme for Innovation and Development (PRESSID) Committee conducted a computer-based aptitude test for 449 First Class graduates to select the best 100 for sponsorship to study at the top 25 universities in the world. Seven of the candidates, based in the United Kingdom, also had the opportunity of writing the test, simultaneously, at the National Universities Commission’s Liaison Office in London. Addressing newsmen at the Chams City venue of the test in Abuja, Executive Secretary, NUC, Professor Julius Okojie, said the test was meant to select the ‘best’ among the best and ensure that the selected candidates met the minimum requirements for the scheme initiated by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR.
