The conflicts between the ministry and the board is just so disheartening. our rules are just tearing us apart. all the information am hearing is all about conflicts of interest.
the ministry should send names been compiled or better still conduct fresh recruitment. some of us want to do the job not for wealth alone but for the passion we have for paramilitary.
this govt. done tire me walahi, how many years now. since 2012, no major recruitment has been carried out in the interior. abi all of them wan old for office ni ? before them recruit?.

Service to employ 6,545 personnel ― CG
Nigerian Prisons Service to employ 6,545 personnel ― CG
February 13, 2017 Jacob Segun Olatunji and Kolawole Daniel- Abuja

The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has obtained a waiver to employ 6,545 staff in different cadre with a budget of N6 billion made available for the new personnel as the Service has inadequate personnel.

The Comptroller General of Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) Jaffaru Ahmed who disclosed this yesterday during the 2017 Budget defence the House of Representatives Committee on Interior also hinted that the service was set to mechanize Agriculture in prison farms nationwide.

He said that this was to enable prisoners produce enough food to feed themselves and reduce high financial burden laid on the Federal government.

According to him, “the Service spends over N16 billon each year to feed about 72,000 inmates spread across all the prisons in the country.

He pointed out that the 2016 Budget performance had an outstanding of N5 billion owed contractors for the feeding of Prisoners.

The Comptroller General also said that on assumption of office he had to change the work schedule from three shift to two explaining that it portends danger as some personnel overstayed in a place making it easy for them to become accomplices in jail break.

He stated that although Prison was not a revenue generating agency, yet the service was able to generate about N40.1 million in 2016 which had been paid into the national treasury.

He said that the service was not allowed to retain any of its revenue unless it was generated from the Prison Industry workshop where the inmates directly involved in the production were given one third of the revenue while the rest goes to government.

The Prison boss disclosed that about 27,992 work force of the service could not be paid their salary as at when due in 2016, adding that only N27.9 billion was released out of N34.9 proposed for personnel.

He added that additional N3.9 billion intervention fund was later released by the Ministry of Finance.

He said  that out of N14 billion appropriated for 2016 Capital expenditure, only N3.6 billion was released, the service purchased only 117 vehicles out of 350 vehicles proposed while projects are at various levels of completion in 91 projects site out of 121 projects recommended in 2016 Budget.

The CG reiterated the need to relocate prisons from urban centres while massive rehabilitation is urgently needed in most of the prisons to avoid jail breaks, saying that out of 241 prisons in the country, about 200 were constructed in the colonial days dating back to 1896, and about 139 sandwiched in the metropolis.

According to him, “we need enough money and massive money to rehabilitate prisons, build new prisons and get away from urban centers

“There is need to move prisons out of urban centers because there is no room of expansion, to site industries and install equipment for food processing and reduce the burden on government, some of them are over 100 years” Ahmed said.

On the 2017 Budget the Comptroller General said that N72.3 billion was proposed out of which N37.5 was marked for personnel, N19 billion for overhead, fedding of prisoners N16 billion, feeding of dogs, vulnerable groups and duty staff N3 billion, N4.1 billion for fuelling of Mini maria.

The House Committee Chairman on Interior, Hon. Jagaban Adams Jagaban who called for an executive session with the management of NPS, advised them to be fair during the recruitment process just as they acknowledged the efforts of the new prison management to prevent new occurrences of jail break.

Fraudsters hack NSCDC’s website

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says its website has been hacked by online fraudsters and debunked any ongoing recruitment by the organisation.

The spokesperson of the Corps, Mr Emmanuel Okeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

Okeh said that the Commandant-General of the Corps, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu, had warned the general public to disregard rumours of recruitment or replacement by the NSCDC.

He said, “Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is not recruiting as widely speculated on the internet and various social media platforms.

“Beware of 419 and fraudsters who have hacked into NSCDC’s website to dupe innocent and desperate job seekers online.”

He appealed to Nigerians to ignore all messages with religious undertone going viral; insisting that it is an attempt by mischief makers to use religion to dent the image of the Corps.

Okeh assured that when it was time for recruitment, the process would be published in various national dailies and electronic media and not online and social media.

Online fraudsters have been duping unsuspecting Nigerians through various website and social media platforms since the NSCDC announced plans to recruit 10,000 personnel.

The NSCDC had in December 2016 announced plans to recruit 10,000 personnel to beef up its operations, subject to approval by the Federal Government.

The NSCDC has continued to maintain that it had not gotten approval from the Federal Government for the recruitment following a barrage of enquiries and fraudsters taking advantage of the situation.

In view of the situation, the NSCDC boss, Abdullahi Muhammadu, had directed the Intelligence and Anti-Fraud units of the Corps to clamp down on the online job fraudsters with a view to stemming the tide.

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara, Olushola Amore, has ordered the dismantling of a camp of Peace Corps of Nigeria in Offa local government area of the state, describing it as illegal. The Command’s Public Relation Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the development on Friday in Ilorin.
said the Commissioner viewed the camp as illegal, hence the reason he ordered that everyone at the camp should leave. Okasanmi explained that there was no information to the effect that a camp will open in Offa to train anyone. “We were not officially informed about any camp in Offa and we don’t have any information about any organization organising any camp there. “There should be no training or camping of any organization without the knowledge of the police. “No organization has secure any clearance to organize any camp in Offa. “When we got information that there is a camp going on somewhere in Offa and since no one informed us about any, we had to close the camp. “Doing this, we considered the security situation of the country because we don’t know the pedigree of the organization conducting the camp. “Our action was to just ensure there is no breakdown of law and order. “If we have a directive from Abuja that any camping will hold, there is no problem because we don’t have any issue with anyone” Okasanmi said. Reacting to the incident, the Kwara Adjutant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dr. Folorunsho Peter, denied the police allegation that his command did not inform it of its orientation camp. He explained that there were some applicants who had not paid their dues to qualify to take part in the orientation process who wanted to forcefully partake in the camping. “Some persons came and wanted to partake in the training and they have not paid their dues and met resistance from our officers on ground. “The police came in and said the issue has not been properly resolved and that we did not obtain clearance to operate. “We have properly informed them of our plans, we served them our time table for the orientation camp. “We even invited the police commissioner to come and deliver lecture, as well as DSS, NDLEA and some other organizations. “The camp Commandant came to Ilorin to see the Commissioner of Police, though I was not with them but was told they had a positive discussion” Peter said. Peter said theyhad allowed participants to go off camp, so as not to have any confrontation with the police. He said applicants have been told to report to the Command’s headquarter in Ilorin on Monday, Feb. 20, and that camping will resume again by Tuesday, Feb. 21. NAN reports that no fewer than 5, 000 applicants from across the country are gathered for the orientation in Offa.

All the best @all. If you make it great. But don't spend full years waiting to be called doing nothing for these big firms that use a whole year on a recruitment process. Very frustrating!

Anyway
Remember this; It is not enough to earn & carry about a certificate! That's phase 1. Life is about relevance & providing solutions. Someone right now somewhere is looking for someone who can do something for him/her & get paid! Opportunity Meets with preparation! Is your worth only in that paper certificate even though you hardly have a REAL skill? Therefore; EACH DAY , LET YOUR CAPITAL BE YOUR KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & BARE HANDS!

**Click My Name & View That Resource You Need!**
Don't wait in perpetuity for job invitations after applying! March is here already! The thief you harbour is PROCRASTINATION! Therefore don't wait until the whole year runs out!

Great dreamers don't stay idle at home. They take steps!
