According to a text message from 3836 I received this evening, all a would-be participant in the soccer academy have to do is to sms his details to 3836 at a whooping cost of N3,000/sms and must be between 14-17 years of age. As it stands right now, it seem as if the North is completely cut off, as there is no single location allocated there except Abuja, for the screening.
Should you be interested, SMS your Name, Age(14-17yrs), Screening location(Lagos, Benin, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu) to 3836 E.g. "John James, 14, Lagos" and send to 3836. All sms are charged at N3,000/SMS. Good luck to you.

Moussa Latunji Joins Glo Soccer Academy

Ex- Beninioise International and former Midfielder of the Squirrels, the National team of Benin Republic, Moussa Latunji arrived Nigeria on Sunday to join the Glo Soccer Academy camp in Lekki Lagos.

He was received on arrival by the Team Manager of the Academy, Mr. Victor Ikpeba who described him as an outstanding footballer whose wealth of experience will be very useful to the players in the Academy.

Moussa Ladtunji, a resourceful player, was an integral part of the Beninioise National team for over a decade and on retirement he has been fully involved in grassroots football development in Benin Republic. He is expected to bring his wealth of experience in age-grade football into the Academy.

He recently joined the screening team of Glo Soccer Academy to select talents in Benin Republic.

He is expected to temporarily fill the void of ex-Ghanaian International, Tony Baffoe who has been actively involved in the pre–Academy screening activities in Ghana, Nigeria and Benin as well as the smooth take-off of the Academy in Lagos last week. Tony is scheduled to travel out for an urgent FIFA assignment in Germany and he is expected back in the Academy immediately the Club World Cup is concluded.

Thirty-three selected players from all the screening centres in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic are currently in the Glo Soccer Academy camp in Lagos where they are being trained by top coaches from West Africa and Manchester United Football Club.

Out of the 33 in the Academy, 16 finalists will emerge and they will go on a training tour of the Manchester United Soccer Schools in Carrington, England, as well as enjoy the G-Bam Scholarship of N750,000 each as part of the prizes. In addition, one of them who emerges as the Most Valuable Player will earn N5 million, while the remaining 15 will go home with N1 million each.
