vicuze: Bank Sort code and Bank Swift code/BIC are they the same thing? I don't think they are. If I'm correct, the sort code is what's referred to as "Routing #" here in the U.S. - branches of same banks or corresponding banks within a geographical area have same routing # for domestic ACH and different for international wires. As for SWIFT CODES, these are different. This is used to identify the Bank or financial entity where the electronic money is going into. |

Every branch has its sort code,if you dont know the sort code u can as well use the routing number for the bank , which is unique to each bank; firstbank 01115000 ecobank 050150000 unity bank 215150000 uba 033150000 union bank 032150000 oceanic bank 056150000 skye bank 076150001 access bank 044150001 diamond bank 065150000 wema bank 035150000 intercontinental bank 069150000 afribank 014150000 bank phb 0821500002 stanbic ibtc 221150000 you will only need the sort code when doing neft or rtgs tansfer why for instant payment u dont need the sort code. nevertheless , the bank officials should be able to provide the sort code thats is if they are ontop of their job |

expert.tol: i have seen Citibank branch in Nigeria as far back as 2000 in warri (water resources area effurun). that was before they were forced to rename it Nigerian international bank. their lagos head office or branch is opposite radisons blu hotel along ozumba mbadiwe street in Victoria island as you go towards dodan barrack. |

xammy: WEMA BANK 035150103 The only sort codes for Nigerian banks that I know of are alphanumeric. While some Nigerian banks have specific sort/swift codes for each branch, others have one sort code which all the branches of the banks use. So if you want to receive money from outside Nigeria, you just give the person your bank name, account name, account number and the sort code for the bank. When the money arrives at the head office the bank will transfer it to the specific account number. For example Ecobank Nigeria is ECOCNGLA, First Bank is FBNINGLA etc. For more information check out this website which contains the full list: http://www.theswiftcodes.com/nigeria/ |

Shame on them all,you can imagine, someone who did I.T. 2009 should be a graduate by now, should he or she still be fighting and struggling for bank sort code inother to collect I.T fund level of UNEMPLOYMENT in our great country...**breathdown** |

I opened an account with a bank some years back then i traveled to another state. I applied for a wan-waiver which was sent to the branch in my new location. My question now is, what sort code do I use? Is it that of the branch where I opened the account or that of the branch I use for my transactions now? |
