Which One Should Be Most Preferred Between Physical Injury & Emotional Injury by Concept(m): 11:14am On Oct 13, 2012
We have a characteristic in our society which has been there before I was born and it is still thriving today. Armed robbers inflicting injuries on their victims and also in a similar scenario we have robbers in politics, cooperate organisations, NGOs e.t.c though the second categories of robbers do steal with pen & virtue of position however by the time they finish their act many families, even the society are left with emotional wounds which also lead to death of many.

What is my view? I am of the opinion that some law should be made to tackle this menace. Let's examine the process that led to the death penalty for these guys who are student:
In his testimony, the victim of the offence, Jonathan Usenge, told the court that five armed men came to his house, attacked and robbed him of some valuable items on that day.
He stated that the robbers collected his Nokia 1600 phone valued N12,700.00, two torch lights valued N350.00 and a sum of N16,500.
He said the convicts were armed with guns and a hacksaw, and that the clothes they wore on the day of the robbery, his stolen phone and the hacksaw were recovered from them during police investigation.
Delivering judgment, Igoche held that the prosecution had proved its case against the convicts and found them guilty as charged.
But the judge said the punishment prescribed for offenders under Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act was death by either hanging or firing squad, pointing out that it was subject to the governor's discretion. (NAN)

In the same country, check the judgement here and the money involved.

The former Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) board chairman and a chieftain of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has been convicted by Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of the Lagos High Court.
He is sentenced to two years for a 35-count charge that is to run concurrently.
The former South West deputy chairman of the PDP was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2008 for contract inflation to the tune of N84 billion with four other board members, during his tenure as the chairman of the NPA board between 2000 and 2003.

Please see how we celebrate those who are taking us back to the stone ages.

The former chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Olabode George, who was sentenced to prison two years ago for fraud was released yesterday to rapturous welcome by his family and political associates.
Mr. George, a chieftain in the Peoples Democratic Party, exited the gates of the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos at exactly 10;10 am on Saturday morning amidst fanfare and jubilations.
and as he stepped out he was embraced by his wife, close family members and few party chieftains. He later moved to a church where a thanksgiving service was held for him. Leaders of the PDP, including former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and some senior government officials were present at the occasion.

My Case:

Looking at the items stolen from the two case study and the scar left behind by he perpetrators be it physical or emotional, the feelings still remain the same, we feel cheated, deprived of what really belong to us especially the issue of common wealth. Do you know how many unemployed graduates N84billion will take out of the street if such money is channeled to the right course.

Can we know your view please?
