just recently my laptop can't open pdf files. it keeps giving me a prompt like active script is running even when only Mozilla is open. Please someone help me out!

close all the software that might be running on ur pc ...then open the file .. if the same result ...then uninstall and reinstall ur adobe reader. it should do it

Download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader and try it again!

Hey guys, honestly I appreciate all your help but I did all of these before I posted on this forum.
Uninstalling was another headache! Will keep trying though.
Any other leads will be well appreciated.

I assume you're tech savvy enough right?
Anyway try to open adobe reader - the program not a pdf file. If it opens then it's possible the default program for opening pdf files is not adobe reader.
Change the default file under the file properties (right-click on file -> select properties -> click on the "change" button at the opens with entry and select adobe reader).
If however your adobe reader doesn't open then google for and get another pdf reader - one not made by adobe and make sure you change the file properties so that it opens with that pdf reader.
