Lets establish how much power is consumed by your typical home appliances, this is just a guide, you can calculate it yourself by checking the back of your appliance (Amperes*Voltage=Watts) 1.5 Ampere*220 Volts= 330 Watts

Standing/Ceiling Fans: 10-100 Watts
LCD/LED TV: 54-350 Watts
1 Horse Power AC: 735 Watts
Freezer/Fridge: 100-250 Watts
Energy Savings Bulbs: 4-25 Watts
Iron: 1000 Watts

Assumptions:

24 hours Power Supply (you all know this is not achievable right now)
30 days in a month
Maximum Ratings for Appliances


2 Ceiling Fans 2*100 = 200 Watts ; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 12 hours everyday is 200*12*30 = 72KWH per month
1 LCD TV = 350 Watts; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 12 hours everyday is 350*12*30 = 126 KWH per month
1 Horse Power AC = 735 Watts; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 12 hours everyday is 735*12*30 = 264.4 KWH per month
1 Iron = 1000 Watts; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 2 hours everyday is 1000*2*30 = 60KWH per month
2 Fridge/Freezer 2*250 = 500 Watts; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 24 hours everyday is 500*24*30 = 360KWH per month
4 Energy Savings Bulbs 4*25 = 100 Watts; Power Consumed in a 30 days when SWITCHED-ON 12 hours everyday is 100*12*30 = 36KWH per month

Okay Lets Put it Together= 72+126+264.4+60+360+36= 918.4 KWH per month

New PHCN Tariff is Assuming Ikeja Disco N12.68 (https://www.facebook.com/Nigerian.Electricity.Regulatory.Commission)

Customer Bill is 918.4*12.68= N11,645.31

You can now reduce by a factor based on how much power is supplied to you everyday and number/types of appliances in your house
