If one wants to respray a car with enamel paint, is it good if high quality hardener is added in event of inability to afford the superior Sikkens Autobase ?

Yes it good to mix the enamel paint with a quality hardener. But why enamel?, it is toxic and harmful. Enamel paint does not dry well on its own, it needs proper supervision. lastly, it takes too long to dry.

There is this alternate bumper for Hondas and Toyotas.... I am not sure maybe because of the material, most people leave it in black (unpainted) while those who try to paint it have a sad story to tell after maybe 6-8 months.

What's your take? A poor paint job or the bumpers material are just "unpaintable"?

Good morning sir. If a car paint is not properly mixed, once you spray it on a car, whether is the bumper or any other part of the body, it will surely peel off. Most paints have to be mixed with a reducer, thinner or hardener so they attain the right velocity. If the paint is too thin, it will run and show lines (I.e it will be dripping and the paint on the car will eventually start breaking in 5 - 7 months time). On the other hand if it is too thick, it won’t flow out easily from the spray gun. So in a nut shell, if the paint is mixed properly it won't peel off. Thank you sir.
