1 – BUILD A SITE SHARING FOOD RECIPES

You can make money from what a lot of women love to do: cooking. But don’t run off and start compiling recipes. Make yours unique. Yes, a niche. For example, instead of a general recipe site, what about adding recipes that will help people and their families who have diabetes? Then invite people in your social and new media network to add their own diabetic-centric recipe. Or, a recipe site just for Afro-Caribbean dishes. Or healthy 20 minute meals for busy mums.

How to monetise it:

Add at least 50 recipes to your site
Invite family and friends in your network to add their own recipes or variations of a similar recipe
Sell ad space to caterers, relevant grocery shops, restaurants, etc
Or simply ad Google Adsense to your site

What you need:

Choose a niche food you’re interested in or know something about
Register a domain and webhosting – I use Pickaweb and it costs from £2.49 per month
Use Softaculous on Pickaweb to install WordPress
Install the free RecipePress plug-in which allows you to categorise recipes, users can submit their own recipes, etc
Register for Google Adsense and add the code to your site or sell ad space
