Flavour uses "igba oringo" in his songs. I just figured out it means "flirting" and "living a careless lifestyle".

Amaghi m maka ndi ozo, kama umu mu na agboro mu nile, ga-na asu Igbo ofuma.

I think Southern Idemili use such term too. I've heard my aunt and someone from that area say that on different occasion.
Re: Igbo learning thread + Translator by odumchi: 3:20am On Nov 19, 2013
Someone just explained it to me.

It's "Omere ibe ya mere, iyi erila ya" and it literally means "Let water not drown he who does like others". It's a prayer that basically says things should go well for everyone.

^^^ I think I've heard the name before.

"O bia" - he/she comes. I think Obiageli is "she who comes/came to enjoy".

ODUMCHI, o di ro nma o! The dictionary you linked for us is gone! *crying* lol. Seriously though, I'm sad. I can't find another one as good as the one previously supplied.

Google Translate now translates Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa. I don't know how good the Igbo translations are, but the Hausa ones are terrible.

I've checked it out. The Igbo is horrible as well. It's meant for translating individual words rather than entire sentences and long phrases.

Re: Igbo learning thread + Translator by ChinenyeN(m): 9:16pm On Dec 15, 2013
I don't believe the Igbo translations are that bad. Sure, they're questionable, but I wouldn't say horrible. What kind of sentences did you all try to translate? And were you translating from Igbo to English or English to Igbo?

Though I knew better, I decided for fun to type Ngwa (with Onwu orthography) and translate to English. Now that was horrible. grin
