get it from someone who has the game installed. Found in program files i think. Like in 12, it shows if your RAM, processor and video card are up to par

lestat: Dude for gaming I wont recommend any laptop running Intel 4000 HD as its really a low end GPU, AND GENERALLY HAS LOW BENCH MARK SCORES, but if you must game on laptop there are some pretty decent HP gaming laptops, try any of these
1.TOSHIBA Satellite L855-S5255 Notebook Intel Core i5 2450M(2.50GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1333 640GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi AMD Radeon HD 7670M
2.lenovo IdeaPad Y480 (20934EU) Notebook Intel Core i5 3210M(2.50GHz) 14" 6GB Memory DDR3 1600 750GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE
3.there is a us HP dv7 with a custom 1080P full hd screen with the NVidia 640m too

But personally I prefer gaming on a pc as I can run all the latest games on highest, I rigged up a HP workstation wx4600 Core2Quad 2.5, 4 gig ram, Custom power Crossair xh620 watts to power my Nvidia 8800xh GPU, 1 terabyte HDD, windows8 professional x64, all for less than 150k and believe me this baby rocks what she can do u cant get any laptop for 200k that can do what she can do, the fact is she is more powerful than 2 ps3 consoles connected serially. grin

but when and if u ever get your gaming rig hook me up and I will give u any game you want, like:

Dishonored
sleeping dogs
torch light2
Medal of honor
Football manager 2013 with 5gig mega faces, complete player and club logos pack
fifa manager 13
nba 2k13
xcomm enemy unknown

pes 2013 with full pes edits patch with all the kits and transfers

Present situation of things in the gaming industry

If you are in playing the latest games in high or the

highest settings possible, you have to spend money.

it not cheap. The Intel graphics that everyone on this thread

is screaming about will not cut it. Sorry to bust your bubble.

Now unto the real info.

You need at least a Dual core processor at 2.7/8ghz to play games.

I do recommend Quad core though.

In the RAM department, 8GB will be the sweet spot.

In the graphics area, you need at least an AMD or Nvidia Video card with dedicated graphics.

to be specific, place your money on the HD 7000 range upward for AMD and 570M for Nvidia.

for your hard drive, go with a 72000rpm drive or if you have enough money, go the SSD route.

This is it!!!!

There's no doubt desktops are better in terms of raw power but power (electricity) issue is the main snag if you live in Nigeria. Laptops have the advantage of mobility too.

there are several laptop u can use for gaming,it depends on yur pocket. the cheapest one i have is del inpiron with I gig dedicated @ 89k
Re: Choosing The Right Laptop For Gaming by csteve: 11:01pm On Nov 14, 2012
dont just buy laptop becus of its gaming perfomance,, I know everyone needs a notbook that its ba3 can last. Nividea and ATI runs at 64bpf against intel HD that runs at 32bpf. And that drains ur ba3. So get a laptop that will serve you all round. Gaming, durability, and everyday operation and when it gets fault,, can you realy be on the safe side. And I know you wont want to get your pocket so dry. So get a laptop with i3 or i5 processor and intel HD4000 graphic card. Save up money and play atleast over 50% tight games... Pavillion g6t-2000 select edition is not bad..

meipsum1: Please what is the meaning of this HD4000, HD7000, Nividea e.t.c. I want to buy a long lasting(at least 5years) laptop I will use for DOWNLOADING TEXTBOOKS, LONG HOURS TEXTBOOK READING, GAMES PLAYING, DOWNLOADING AND WATCHING VIDEOS, BROWSING and other general use of a laptop during Christmas because that is when laptops are usually cheap. What I was told is to buy any HP Core i5 system, with 4GB RAM, 500GB hard disk. I was not told anything about all these HD4000, HD7000, Nividea, 32bpf e.t.c you are all talking about. PLEASE WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ALL THESE THINGS? AND WHAT OTHER THINGS DO I NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR WHEN BUYING MY SYSTEM APART FROM Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard disk. God bless you as you reply.

The HH 4000, 5000 Nvidia shit u have been seeing on here

is the graphics card that will enable you to play those

games well.

Here is what you need to go for if you need your computer

to last 5years.

Avoid HP if you can.

You need the ffg specs

Core Quad 17 2.3

8GB ram

HDD 750gb 7200rpm

15 or 17 inch shd do fine.

Graphics AMD Mobility HD 6000 series updward (I recommend this becos AMD have stopped driver support for the 4000 series) or

Nvidia GTX 500 series.

avoid hp
Re: Choosing The Right Laptop For Gaming by moonraker(m): 2:20am On Nov 21, 2012
meipsum1: Thank you for your reply. why do you recommend I avoid HP? Which brand do you recommend I go for? is Core i7 the same as Core Quad 17 2.3 (I have never heard core Quad 17 2.3 before)? Lastly, can you please give the specific name of a laptop that contain all these you mentioned (e.g what I mean by specific name is names like Dell inspiron 1545, HP pavilion dm4 e.t.c)?

I stated that the HP brand should be avoided if you can because HP dont make computers like they use to back in the days.

The quality control on their part is horrific. You will be lucky if you are able to use your computer for 3years without it

breaking down. Oooo and dont get me started with support. Imagine a laptop that is one year old with 3years Guarantee is no

longer supported by them (Driver wise). how the heck does that happen??

My recommended brand?? Asus, MSI and may be acer or dell.

Core i7 is a dual core processor (Two logical cores)

Core 17 Quad is a Quad core processor (Four logical cores)

Naturally, the Quad is better but some programs have not been coded

to work with the quad cores yet but well to future proof your system, GO QUAD!!!

The laptop with all of these things?? thats a hard one. I can only do that if i know your budget

Thank you
