I no longer buy newspapers. Most newspapers now offer E-version of their papers I can get the exact print edition of let say National Mirror online. Just finished reading the entire National Mirror for today online. It was like reading the hard copy. http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/todays-e-mirror/todays-e-mirror-40/ |

Haba ! What are you saying here ? Without my daily newspaper,I cannot get more informed than any other medium including the internet, especially with all these epileptic services by the Nigerian providers including their heavy scams. I get supplied nothing less than four daily Newspapers everyday, which I also find time either during the day or night to carefully read and digest. And on Saturdays and Sundays,I don't get tO miss the weekend gists,Shindigs and favorite social gists and gossips. YOu can stare at the pictures and alsoo keep them for other references at some other times. My daily Juicy and unmissable Papers- -Punch -National Mirror -Daily Tribune -Daily Sun,for weird Nigerian stories -Daily Independent -Vanguard Newspapers. -Businessday Newspapers. Nothing can outchange my daily Newsprint, not even the internet on livesceens nor LCDS. The touch of my newspapers in my hards is so ritual and makes me feel serious and sublime. And at every three months, I sell them to 'Abacha' my hausa friend that comes to pick them for recycle at a reasonable price,at least I can buy a bottle a beer for myself and for a friend with the change. My newspapers ! everyday ! all year . |

Wsdm: I still buy newspaper just to encourage my children to develop interest in reading books. You know, that was how my dad got me to start reading analytically. We used to and still buy Guardian newspapers in my house and he would make my siblings and I read the editorials and explain them to him, he used to pay us #200 for our efforts. I only had my eyes on the money then but looking back at it, that was really what got me to be a critical reader. |
