SUMMARY

Adhering to the Centre for Microenterprise Development accounting principles as set out in the accounting manual and in line with standard accounting principles. Supporting the CFO in carrying out his/her finance & accounting functions; preparation of financial reports; and ensuring complaiance to internal control procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Prepare for review and approval receipt vouchers, payment vouchers, journals, invoices, fixed assets register and other accounting documents.
2. Prepare head office budget and make analysis
3. Prepare monthly reconciliation of backlog reports in collaboration with operations
4. Prepare Bank reports and reconciliation statements
5. Carry out banking transactions including cash deposits and withdraws.
6. Input and handle financial data for the company's automated financial systems and maintain manual filling systems.
7. Prepare cover letters for accounting transactions and related documents using appropriate template.
8. Reviews invoices for accuracy and process vendor cheques for payment.
9. Keep petty cash and disburse amount based on approved procedures and prepare cash report.
10. Balance and reconciles the finance petty cash. Inputs purchase order and performs petty cash fund audit.
11. Logs receipts, balances and transfers funds with adjusting journal enteries.
12. Make payments to vendors, consultants, workmen etc based on appropriate guidelines.
13. Prepare documents for finance meeting
14. HR and Admin functions.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree or HND in accounting, three to five years of accounting experience and an attempt at stage II of ICAN professional examination.
2. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
