Following Valencia’s 2-5 loss to Real Sociedad last Saturday evening, anemergency board meeting was held byclub president, Manuel Llorente, while Pellegrino was giving post-match comments to the media.
After the press conference, Pellegrino found Llorente in the locker room waiting to give him the news of his dismissal, to which Pellegrino went into a rage, calling Llorente “spineless”.
According to a report from RadioMARCA, Di Matteo has landed inValencia to workout the final details of a contract that will see the Champions League winning managerremain the first team coach through the end of the season, with the contract expiring in June.
At that point, they will then discussed the terms of an extension, or work out their candidate for the permanent position.
Di Matteo is expected to be announced by Valencia in a press conference scheduled for Monday morning.
