The liverpool midfielder Steve Gerrard yesterday was named the player of the year by the professional footballer's association(PFA) after liverpool beat chelsea 2-1 on saturday to reach the FA cup finals. Last year the award went to Chelsea captain John Terry. Arsenal's Thierry Henry won in 2003 and 2004. Manchester United's Wayne Rooney won the Young Player of the Year award on Sunday.  |

Well, good for gerrard he deserved it as far as am concerned He is an influencial player in his team Rooney is good to go wth it for the 2nd time also But he shud watch his back next yr cos cesc is comin  |
