My point... 20/12/2012 (20th December, 2012) is d right date style for any Nigerian and other countries colonized by Britain. American style is 12/20/2012 (december 20, 2012)...

To the North Americans, today's date is officially 12/20/2012 and not 20/12/2012

To the Middle Easterners, today's date is officially 7/2/1434 and not 20/12/2012

To the Chinese, today's date is officially 8/??/4710 and not 20/12/2012

Anyone attaching importance to a date is strictly up to that person. It doesn't mean that the date is actually important. It is as important as any other day. People from these places don't have an idea of a special day u are talking about.
