Nigerian Football- It now seem a regular occurrence of players collapsing and dieing while on the field of play. Some time this year a Bolton wonderer player suffered a cardiac arrest attack but was divinely reinstated .

Of recent a Nigerian footballer, Austin Ndife, 21, died on Monday in Nepal due to cardiac arrest.

According to Agency Reporting for punch The player had arrived in Nepal for trials and had not signed for any club before he died at the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Bansbari.

The Nigerian had a heart problem for two weeks and was admitted to Gangalal on Sunday.

According to Ndife´s close friend, Michael Ntife, of Saraswati Club, the Nigerian had arrived in Nepal a couple of months ago and had appeared in the trial for A Division outfits Three Star, Friends and Bauddha.

“We have requested ANFA to make arrangements for sending his body to his homeland,” said Michael Ntife.

The question remains what could be done to avert this threat to the beautiful game, and also how healthy are our favorite players.
