If there is no evidence that anyone has "entered the desert", maybe it's because the person flew over that area in a plane or helicopter. I don't think anyone would think that a "series of reaction leading xplosion made d Accurate, fine wristwatch". grin

what if the desert is littered with billions of watches which are either broken, wrong, or just plain useless, and you find only one watch out of this bunch that is good enough to be worn...would you still believe someone put it there ?

analogies are only effective when you know how to use themwink

Watches are made from Quartz which is sand. The sand of the desert under much temperature and pressure developed into gears and glass. Then micro-organisms living near the developed quartz dies and their remains form the leather band then . . . .
Let me stop there, the Atheist in the house would give a better explanations

hilarious, blind defendant. There is no way micro organism wil react to produce a watch with a BATTERY, MINUTE AND SECOND HAND, STRAP ETC. No scientific explanation as to why it tells actual time and date.....

well, the initial question has serious flaws in it.

first of all, if NO ONE has entered the desert before, then SOME ONE could not have put it there.
second of all, if it came from a series of reactions, the watch would just be one out of billions of possible outcomes, and you would see evidence of reactions that yielded different results.
