such things."

Yahoo News is the master of sensational headlines. I
just saw this one from Shine, "2013 Horoscopes -
Ready to see if your sun sign will shine in 2013?"
.... You may look horoscopes all you want, or in our
own case here in Africa, consult native seers, BUT if
you don't say YES to yourself in 2013, the gods
won't say YES to you, as the Igbos would say.
... I have labored passionately for the Nigerian
youth virtually all my life. I love them - they're the
BEST IN THE WORLD... but they are the hardest hit
by the wickedness and greed of successive
governments and sickly political structures.
.... The Nigerian youth has two major problems to
grapple with in 2013 - the first they have no
control over (at least, until they take their future in
their own hands, the Arab Spring style), and
another over which they have control...
... Let me talk about the one under your control:
ASPIRATION!
... A youth without aspiration is dangerous to
himself and society. He is like a swimming pool
without water.... Aspiration drives genius, inspires
achievement, turns the wheel of labor and
productivity. Aspiration precedes SUCCESS ...
keeps a youth burning the proverbial midnight oil,
working on himself and his project until it comes to
fruition. Aspiration is the magic line that separates
DREAM from FANTASY.
... So, here's the BIG problem: many Nigerian youth
have POOR ASPIRATION. For the average youth, his
or aspiration list for 2013 will include
- a ticket to Koko Concert, Project Fame and A
Night of a Thousand Laughs
- parties, cars, fashion, music and expensive
handsets
- a girlfriend/boyfriend to sleep with every night
- visa to "greener pastures" of Europe and Asia
- fun, fun and more fun
.... No amount of horoscoping and star gazing, no
amount of government intervention will save a
youth with poor aspiration! If you don't intervene in
your own life, no one else can!

ASPIRATION? St.Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8. Your
aspirations in 2013 must be ==
~True
~ Noble
~ Right
~ Pure
~ Lovely
~ Admirable
~ Excellent or praiseworthy
== What are the 7 Things Every Youth Must Aspire
for in 2013? ==
--1. To become a person of unshakable CHARACTER
- "A good name is better than silver and gold."
--2. To be FREE FROM WANT through HONEST labor
and financial intelligence, not get-rich-quick
schemes. Be self reliant and stop belittling yourself
begging for jobs and money!
--3. Have healthy relationships and be part of a
powerful network
--4. To be the best in his chosen career or vocation
--5. To be RESPECTED as an authority in something
positive in your CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE
--6. To contribute something significant to the
society and become a ROLE MODEL
--7. To lead a healthy lifestyle, full of energy and
vitality, never spending a day in the hospital in
2013.
