ok ,try use the parenthesis properly,

is it integral 1/[(1-x^2)sqrt(1-x^2)]dx ?

Somebody please help....

[I] A surface consists of parts of the planes x = 0, x = 2, y = 2 and z = 3 - y in the region z greater than equal to zero. Apply Stokes' theorem to evaluate [''surface integral'' curl F. ds] over the surface where F = 2xi + xzj + yzk where S lies in the z = 0 plane.
Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by Qpetz: 6:06pm On Jan 03, 2016
[II] Find unit vectors normal to the surfaces x^2 + y^2 - z^2 + 3 = 0 and xy- yz + zx - 10 = 0 at the point (3, 2, 4) and hence find the angle between the two surfaces at that point.

since they are same, use law of indices, you are left with "negative half power", apply the negative law of indices, after that, go with either of; X=sin¤ or cos¤.

How many digits does 35000 have?
Re: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by DatechMan(m): 9:16am On Jan 04, 2016
Madmathecian:
How many digits does 35000 have?
The answer should be:

5000log3

which is 2385.60627...

Since there can only be whole digits(always round up), the answer is 2386

Explanation:

35000 == k x 10n

where n represent the number of digits if 0.1< k < 1

finding log of both sides and simplifying:

5000log3 = logk + nlog10

n = 5000log3 - logk

since logk is inconsequential since logk <<< 5000log3, we can ignore first.

n = 5000log3
n = 2385.60627...

Note that -1 lessorequal logk lessorequal 0

Therefore we can only round up our answer

n = 2386

Also, by extension:

logk = 5000log3 - 2386

k = 10(5000log3 - 2386)
k = 0.40389976...

It follows that 35000 = 0.4039 x 102386

(1)what is the real application of mathematics in our live?

(2) prove that:
a. Sin^3 x = 1/4(3sinx - sin3x)
b. Find 2nd derivative of:
y = cos^3 x

Mathematics is full of beautiful patterns that can be used in our everyday lives.Its concepts covers all works of life depending on what you are talking about.So if there is no mathematics there is no science and commercial aspects of life.It makes you to think critically and create something out of nothing.
2.To prove that sin^3 x=1/4(3sinx-sin3x),apply the differentiation from the first principle.
3.y=cos^3 x apply the algebraic rule of the derivative twice or you can still use the derivative from the first principle.

Madmathecian:
Find the distance from the point (2,3) to the line containing the points (−2,−1) and (5,4).

Do you mean the shortest distance?

If yes then:
The shortest distance to a point is across a perpendicular line to the line towards the point.
#1 - Equation of the line perpendicular to the line is calculated
#2 - Point of intersection of the lines is found
#3 - Distance between the point of intersection of the lines and the point (2,3) gives answer

#1
(y-4)/(x-5) = (4--1)/(5--2)

y-4 = 5/7(x-5)

7y = 5x + 3

m= 5/7
-1/m = -7/5

(y-3)/(x-2) = -7/5

y-3 = -7/5(x-2)

5y = -7x+29

When is a system of equations said to be consistent and inconsistent

A system of equations is said to be consistent if it has one solution(unique) or many solutions while it can be inconsistent if it has no solutions.
