Chinese Dad Hires Virtual Hitmen To 'kill' Son In Online Video Games by JuanDeDios: 6:53am On Jan 09, 2013
A Chinese father made an unusual move to get his unemployed son to stop playing video games and find a job: he hired hitmen to assassinate his son’s character—literally. The NY Daily News reports that the father, identified as Mr. Feng, said his 23-year-old son had been obsessed with online role-playing games since high school. He brought home poor grades and later, couldn’t even hold a real job at a software development company.

That was when Feng thought of a way to save his son. He hired other players for an undisclosed fee to hunt down the young man’s avatar in his favorite online games, repeatedly killing him each time he logged on. But once the younger Feng found out, he shrugged off the virtual assassinations, saying it didn’t bother him and that he was merely taking his time to find a job that suited him. The father said he was relieved to find his son level-headed.
