What is (are) the most shocking and reprehensible things you have found in the bible? For my part, for a book that claims to be the arbiter of morality, I have found the following quite truly and breathtakingly shocking;


1) The amount of murder and killing is unprecedented in any other book
2) The non-condemnation of slavery
3) The amount of contradiction where we would expect harmony

I have debated with Christians many times in an open forum and all of their reasoning is the same; you are a cult if you believe outside of the bible. Basically, this daughters get him drunk and when he is passed out in a stupor they have sex with him. How he managed to get it up is not mentioned. Did they have viagra back then?
