Dressing modest does not change you to a good person overnight nor make you a nun, rather it reduces the number of men/women who lust after you thereby making them commit unconscious sins, secondly it also make people see you in a good/positive and appealing way especially people seeing you for the first time.

The way you dress leaves people to view you in 2 ways. (Lasting image of you)

1: A valueless slut/thug only fit for lustful activities
2: A responsible being whom one should get closer to for serious and profitable activities.

Whether they are right from the first look or not is not the issues here, not everyone would have the luxury of getting to speak with you one on one, but most of these people who won't be chanced to know if what you're wearing is totally opposite of your person because whatever the "idea" you put into their head from your dressing automatically becomes what they take you to be.

The choice is yours (both male/female)

Covering doesn't mean you start veiling your women and daughters. Dressing decently is OK and acceptable smiley

Mohammed Ali is a replica of decent father who foresee the future of his children and want them to live a life worthy of acceptance by God..

My friend get Ur facts right. Am a Christian. This thread has nothing I mean absolutely nothing to do with Christianity or Islam. I didn't see your thread before starting this. And yes I had to add reference/source because they are not my words and Ali didn't personally tell me.

What's with people and front page?
Everyone should commend these words of wisdom. But the idle folks will as usual bring all sorts of sentiments into it. Thankfully Ali is not a nigerian otherwise ethnic bigots would hav had a field day hurling negatives at him.

honeric01: Too bad, advises like this hardly work in the life of this present/future generation.

Advises? Poor English!

Correction: advice (singular)
or pieces of advice (plural)

And a dunce even liked the altogether trash-worthy post. SMH.

Ground zero: That means u really do not know Clausius clay... He is a renowed womaniser during his hay days... Ask ur archives

Spoiler Alert!!!
Your comment got me crackin man. A Legendary boxer and all-round gentleman who cut across racial barriers and political, social and economic frontiers. Good man.

In the Women Affairs Department however, he was a chronic miner and polluter of natural resources but hey, I guess that comes with the territory. Also I have no doubt that he was a good father to his daughters. LOL

Still on still, history of the United States and the civil rights movement would not be complete without the name Mohammed Ali. Lot to learn.
Nice story.

Techwriter: I started this thread on Nairaland since last week and it didn't make front page until it is made an islamic issue. Someone that did not read the book, copied my post and put it in an islamic website and it now made front page. Muslims should stop this copycating it is sinful; must u copy everything? Just read similar threads recommended by Nland above and u see my own with slight adjustment of title I gave it

@ Techwriter, Sorry your topic did not make it to front page, but is that enough reason for your wild assumptions? I will APPEAL to ALL to let Techwriter enjoy his massage in 'self-delusion'. This may be part of his jealously guarded new year resolution. For your information this event happened decades ago, I saw a poster made out of the issue in a private house in ILUPEJU Estate, about ten years ago, but more importantly I just heard from the publishers at a joint conference with the owners of the website, that you are the only man alive who has read the book, Pls can you Honourably step forward to receive your National award. Seun on behalf of your careless modes please hand over to him a bucket of ice cream for missing the front page in a 'mysterious' way lipsrsealed cool smiley cheesy grin

osifred: This piece might interest, inspire, and elicit a change of attitude to at least one person. An incident transpired when Muhammad Ali’s daughters arrived at his home wearing clothes that were quite revealing.

Here is the story as told by one of his daughters:

“When we finally arrived, the chauffeur escorted my younger sister, Laila, and me up to my father’s suite. As usual, he was hiding behind the door waiting to scare us. We exchanged many hugs and kisses as we could possibly give in one day.

My father took a good look at us. Then he sat me down on his lap and said something that I will never forget. He looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Hana, everything that God made valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to.

Where do you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and protected.

Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell.

Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers and layers of rock. You’ve got to work hard to get to them."

He looked at me with serious eyes. “Your body is sacred. You’re far more precious than diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too.”
