I am currently reading a book by Don Colbert titled What You Dont Know May Be Killing You, so i thought to share this part.

What you dont know about detoxification may be killing you. We are living in the most polluted times in the history of the world.
Much of our air is contaminated
Most of our water is tainted
Our food usally contain toxins.
The tragic news is that these pollutants are entering our bodies and invading our circulation. Where is their final destination? They accumulate in our tissue and organs
You may shrug your shoulders and say, "Well big deal, whats wrong with a few impurites?
Take a closer look. The toxins, especially pesticides take up residence in our fatty tissues. Few people realize that their brains contain a significant amount of a form of fat called phospholipids. Our nerve cells are encased in a membrane consisting of phospholipids. Many toxins are fat soluble and thus can accumulate in fatty tissues and in cell membranes, including our brains.
What is the result of a continual buildup of toxins? The symtoms and signs of toxic overload include fatigue, lack of energy, headaches, allergies and sensitivities, excessive mucus production, sinus problems, bronchitis and even pneumonia. Other symptoms includes acne, forgetfulness, foggy thinking, food allergies, mood changes, saggy skin, respiratory problems, joint aches, arthritis, psoriasis and poor immune system.
CHECKLIST FOR DETOXIFICATION.

*Toxins usually reside in our fatty tissues and must be eliminated
*We must improve the main detoxification systems of our body: our kidney, colon, skin, lungs, lymphatics and liver
*Avoid the toxin of alcohol, tobacco and drugs
*Eliminate or decrease caffine from your diet
*Avoid liver and kidney meats because they are toxic filters in animals
*Limit or totally avoid, pork products
*Eat seafood (but not shellfish) from nonindustrialized areas only
*Avoid trans fats, which are harmful to your arteries
*Dont eat foods high in mecury
*Engage in aerobic exercise for perspiration, and use a suana regularly
*Decrease your intake of sugar and salt
*Eat a high-fiber diet for bowel regularity, or take fiber supplement like psyllium.
*Take 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil, once or twice a day
*Fast at least one day each month.
