Ngwakwe: You are too backward, because Microsoft Office 2003 cannot open recent Office documents that added "x" to all their previous file format e.g. Afam4eva.docx

Wrong!!! There is a compatibility pack that you can download for free to open the new format....

delors: ...just to be launched? How come I have been using it since last August? I think am way ahead of my time....
The Excel is superb!

You got access to it through illegal means and even if you downloaded it from microsofts website, this means you are running a preview

and not the real deal.

cscript "C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\ospp.vbs" /dstatus [for x86 bit office on x64 bit Windows]

OR

cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\ospp.vbs" /dstatus [for x64 bit office on x64 bit Windows or x86 on x86]

Heh. I'm sure that wouldn't work for you, I'm sure you're a custom install guy. I installed 2013 over 2010 over the weekend, and I had mad gragra with activating via codys microsoft toolkit. To run ospp.vbs, I had to command window here at the office 15 folder

UI takes some getting used to. Then the usual goodbye to some of your fav third party apps whose developers have stopped . And the app store doent seem to support direct downloads. Bummer for pirates. Anyway. Who knows? May as well go legit. Windows 8 pro is selling for 8k in lagos. Office may be cheap too

I hope you know MS does not make money of single users like you and me when they sell their MS suites. They do so by selling in volumes to PC OEMs, so watch out the next dell Alienware you buy or the next Sony, Samsung pc will have MS2013 wink
Yes, I know exactly what you are saying, but it will also interest you to know that the volumes you are talking about are being used by a collection of single users like you and me. If we dont like it, it affects their sales for that particular product. Also, do you know that I can reject a Samsung, Dell or Sony PC becos of office 2013? Or better still, I can buy the PC, uninstall the office 2013 and install something else. This issue of user-preference was exactly what crippled the Windows Vista sales. Users around the world complained that it was too heavy, yet it had less fun, people rejected it and held on to Windows XP. Microsoft agreed and even stated on their site that it was one of the reasons they brought out Windows 7 in a hurry.

Guys, Techies, People, Lets all calm down here. No need to fight over this..

Just imagine. You never ever going to lose your precious documents again.

Once you create a document, its gets saved automatically to your skydrive

and soon dropbox account right from the comfort of your Office 2013 Suit.

Its not a bad innovation if you ask me!!!!

nuorlah: Word 2010 is a big mess..cant figure everything out yet. I hope the 2013 is better.

I also prefer 2003
I simply love the 2003 version. I REMEMBER one day I had to complete a term paper on a friends pc loaded with 2007...first time with 2007 office...I got a head ache afterwards
MS designed the 2007 office with so much simplicity, it ended up complicated, especially for older users who've been familiar with previous releases.
