Hello, and nice to meet you all. I am new here. I had tried to join Nigerian Village Square, but the validation email leads me to an empty page. Nairaland was much easier to use, so here I am! :-) I would like to request some help naming a character. I don't have a specific birthday or day of the week for her, but she was born in 1990. She is a person with a very calming aura and all around one of the lovelier characters I have. Would like to collect a list of potential names for her. I believe it is much easier to ask people familiar with these names and culture rather than try to piece something together via Google that might sound awkward, or worse -- disrespectful of the culture! I don't have a preference between Yoruba or Igbo naming background -- I think both types of names sound really pretty and interesting. I welcome any other tribal names, but since I'm unfamiliar, I would appreciate your identifying which background they come from. Thanks for your time!  Made a typo on silhouette. Hope you'll overlook that. Also, the story takes place in 2010, so she is indeed 20. :-) |

Welcome to NL. As for your character's naming, are you looking for Yoruba or Igbo names, or just names in general that relate to the demeanor or characteristics of your character? |

Or may b Shekena! Hausa or beta still Sheka(chika) igbo! So she is either shenoni(yoruba), shekana(hausa),or Sheka( chika igbo). Afterall she is a she and nt a He. |
