Wether u activated or deactivated ur alart they will stil deduct ur money, they are all talented thieves.imagine,"yeye" Ecobank, deducted 500naira,three times in my savings acc.for no reasons, the most anoying,is that they didn't send me an arlat.i was like sueing them to court,i think it wil be beter for me to bring back the old mathod of saving(cage method).it would be beter for me,than to keep my money in the house of thieves. |

Access should be the worst in these illegal deductions...they charged my acct twice for a cheque book I never got 1,200 twice, account maintenance always in d region of 800.Atm charges and alerts are damn killing too.the funniest thing is that I visited 3branches to complain about some deductions and I got 3 different responses. The stories never add up.well I've done d needful,I simply order for the closure but close to 1 wk now I haven't received my money. They claimed there Head office is responsible for account closure. |
Re: Should Banks Charge Customers For Unsolicited SMS Alerts? by Amoda84(m): 11:39pm On Feb 11, 2013 |
The funniest thing about all these deductions is that they never notify you or send an alert.you just simply noticed your account balance has gone down. |

Sanusi Lamido, the CBN chief has killed the banking industry. No Nigerian bank is in good standing! They are all in a state of comatose ...forget about all those profit declaration...na screen saver!. In healthy societies, banks are largely involved in both short term and long term businesses, mega projects, medium and small scale businesses, trading, etc. Thus banks in such societies make their money from proceeds from reinvesting customers' money in businesses. Banks should be investing in Agriculture, industry, trading, energy/ power, etc. But here in Naija...for where? Sanusi Lamido, has killed banking in Nigeria. Now, what do we see? We see banks taking forcefully/ stealing from customers fund deposits to sustain their staggering existence. They are becoming liabilities instead economic solutions. Weep O compatriots, Our banks are sick! CBN, has killed the banking industry. 4 Likes |

All these yeye sms these Banks send jst in order to steal 4rm one....I tink Access is worse off, introducing Account Maintenance fee of #100 and sendin' U useless sms jst 2 increase Ur sms charges.... A savings account is meant 4 low income earners, y shd U make their low income lower jst 'cos they use the bank.... My question now is that now that NCC has directed that all local sms should be charged at #4 or less, does this apply to the banks too?... |

I subscribe for email alert all this year because I have mobile email alert, I don't know how of a sudden GTB add text to it and I'm not even in Nigeria. the first charge is 300 naira on my saving and put my current account in negative for sms charge because i don't put much money in it, I called them immediately to stop it because email alone is enough for me. Under normal circumstances, it should be after sales service for customer at no cost, I have account here and i have never been charge a dime for more than 4 years fo alert. Corporate greed is also part of Nigeria problem, where is bank regulator and CBN on this issue? |

Sad almost all Nig banks charge unbelievable amounts for sms, in addition many other hiddern charges which only few curious customers may get to know. You can trust that at the end of the day, even more than the interest on a savings may have been wiped out. Imagine a bank charging N30/sms. |

Use email alert instead, you won't be charged. Also, it will be very effective if you own a BlackBerry with BIS. |
