@topic we have to remember that for the most part, they are judging these countries according to western standards. Sure there are ppl suffering in these countries but if,u ask some americans, america is equally miserable. Its all about perspective and 9 times out of 10, western countries create/cosign to these "top miserable nations list" to convince themselves that their lifestyles are top knotch. Sure we may not have tribal or political violence in america but there are still iranians or even yemeni ppl who are living far more comfortably than a lot of americans.

*foodforthought.

By far d most sensible post on dis topic.

*takes a bow* cool cool grin

It is only in Nigeria a poor man will be using Blackberry Bold 5 costing N70,000 and putting on shoe costing around N20,000 and tomorrow they will go out and tell the world that they are suffering.....
Nigeria is the only country where if you succed nobody will question you the problem will come when you start to contest for elective position

One can never really trust statistical data that are put out by the CIA. You have to bear in mind that the CIA makes political considerations when they compile such things, like shymexx pointed out. There is always an agenda. Is it any surprise, for example, that Iran is on the list? Does the mere fact that the US government hates the Iran government make the Iranian people ‘miserable’? Well perhaps if you consider the criminal sanctions being imposed on them, maybe. Of course, the biggest joke of the list is the exclusion of Nigeria for no other reason than the fact that their good puppet-boy Jonathan is the president. All it would take is a change of presidency to someone who is not willing to kowtow to America’s selfish interests and you will immediately see Nigeria on that list occupying number 1 spot.
