val_dubem:
My question is this: is it wise to invest soo much time on Social Network where U gain little or nothing (financial wise) or better still, invest soo much time on social network acquiring knowledge with little/nothing to show for it?

This is no longer a question, you are only judging from your own perspective.

I love nairaland! More than fb,twitter,myspace,bbm,2go,skype etc combined! I got to know a lot about international politics on nairaland, to be sincere i registered on nairaland very ignorant about international politics, but now niaraland coupled with few research has made me a semi-guru. And i also get to watch live match even when it is not streaming via nairaland(burkina- 0 vs naija-1.i.e only comments), i get to practise my hard learnt grammar here with some slowpokes who refuse to reason with me, i also get to laugh at people monickering others, and rantings e.g

iyeayo: Well worth it for me. I have been living outside of Nigeria since 2006 and Nairaland is a sure way for me to keep updated with things happening in my Fatherland. If I was told to pick between Facebook and Nairaland today, I'd go with Nairaland. There is no dull moment here and every minute spent on Naiaraland is a sure minute of additional update and knowledge.
We are on the same Page

A resounding YEEEEEEEEEES!

1. All the silly comments are therapeutic ...more like comic relief. We need breaks sometimes
It may sound infantile, but I like those "1st to comment, dancing azonto" crazy comments.

2. I get a lot of information on NL about cars, real estate, etc. For instance, the other day
someone mentioned a platform where one can day-trade online in NSE. Where else can you get
such info? This is a good place for those "Computers" in higher institutions to practice
their trade. Don't ask me what "Computers" do. Oh well..for the uninitiated, "Computers" are
those students that one will call "human info superhighway in the campus".

My only concern is that NL is addictive.

All I can say is Kudos to Seun for NL
