Common acne (aka "acne vulgaris"wink is a skin
condition characterized by what are often
called pimples or zits. It can occur anywhere
on the body and at any age, although it
typically affects teenagers on the face and
back. Some factors, such as being in puberty,
can't be altered, but you can take steps to
avoid and prevent acne. Keep yourself
healthy and presentable by removing factors
that contribute to acne.
STEPS
PAY ATTENTION TO HYGIENE
1
WASH YOUR FACE DAILY. There are many good
skin care systems available, make sure you
use the right face wash for your type of skin
(oily, dry, or normal). Wash your face twice a
day. When you wash your face, wash it with
a warm (not hot) towel. The heat will open
your pores and the temperature is better to
clean with rather than cold water.
o Also, avoid sharing daily things and tools
with an acne-ridden sibling; as this could
spread their acne bacteria to your face via
stuff like towels, make-up brush or kit, band
etc.
2
WASH YOUR HAIR DAILY. The oils on your hair
drip and get rubbed on your face which can
cause acne.
3
WASH YOUR PILLOW CASES. The oils on your
pillow cases(caused by you or otherwise) can
cause acne. Try sleeping straight as much as
you can(It will keep your face away from the
dirt and oil of the pillow case/cover)
PAY ATTENTION TO DIET
1
DRINK A LOT OF WATER. You need to stay
hydrated to have a clear skin. It makes a big
difference. You should drink at least 8 glasses
of water every day.
2
EAT HEALTHY. Stay away from foods that are
greasy and salty. Too much sweet is also
harmful. Items like cheese, chocolate, etc. is
seen to cause problem (although it isn't
necessary. Different people have acne due to
various reasons...these are one of them)
Vitamin C is very good for your skin
(oranges, raw red peppers, kiwi, grapefruit,
and raw broccoli all contain vitamin C). Also,
rinse off your face after eating, even if you
didn't make a mess. If you consume a lot of
junk foods, you'll have to quit. Studies show
that soda, chips, and candy cause more
pimples. Alcohol is also not good for your
complexion.
SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
1
MOISTURIZE YOUR FACE. Use lotions and
creams to moisturize your face daily. It is
extra important to moisturize after you
shower and bathe. The water will actually dry
out your face and cause your skin to become
extra oily.
2
YOU CAN USE A TONER (YOU COULD USE COLD
ROSE WATER AS A TONER - ITS HERBAL, SAFE,
CHEAP AND EFFECTIVE AS WELL.) It reduces the
pore sizes and it does help.
3
IF THINGS GET SERIOUS, CONSULT YOUR
DOCTOR. He may recommend a prescription
containing clindamycin phosphate or benzoyl
peroxide, both very popular acne deterrents.
TIPS
If you wear makeup and or sunscreen on
your face, make sure to wash it off before
going to bed, or your makeup will have more
time to soak into your skin.
Always wash your face when you are
sweaty. The oils in your skin can cause more
breakouts, stress also takes a part of
breaking out.
Try sleeping on your back as much as
possible to avoid making contact between
your face and your pillow.
Spread Honey on your face with the back of
a spoon, then lightly press and peel the
spoon on and off your face, then wash your
face off (Do this before a shower, that way
you can clean it off without getting anything
else wetter than your face), leaving your skin
very clean and soft (the honey removes dirt,
dead skin from your face)
Get facials. Facials will help to cleanse your
skin and the one performing the facial may
or may not get rid of problem spots.
