can anyone help me on how to set up windows server 2003?
i have installed and set it up but i dont know how to add other
computers to the server.

Please be more specific in what you need to do.

- Is this you company Server or for personal use?

- Is this the Only Dedicated Server or do you have additional Servers?

- what do you plan to do? - Create a Domain and Active Directory? - Have you configured your DHCP and DNS Server?

this is my company server.
have configured the DHCP and DNS..
my problem is this,

am trying to network a new pc into the server.
after changing the pc name and domain(from my computer properties),when i click ok,i will receive
an error message.
(i have created new user from the admin and user option)

Your request is not clear enough. But from what i can gather, i guess you are trying to make your server a domain controller. You need to promote your Server as a domain controller using Server manager, after, you can add users and add other computers to the domain.

have done all that..all i wanna do is to add a new computer to the server

can you ping the server from the pc?

i have created a user account.
The OS is windows 7 Ultimate(not home edition)

Firstly, you started this thread on Mar 3, you posted a response on march 28 that you are still trying to solve the problem. Definitely, you have learrnt a lot. Best of luck.

Earlier, somebody asked if you have created dhcp and dns servers. If active directory is configured and the server is a domain controller. You need to decide if the dhcp will be on or not especially in a situation where the clients are obtaining IP addresses from a router in the network and you want to maintain the scope on the router. The DNS can be configured on the server or you do manual configuration on each client in the network. Each computer (client) must be joined to the domain. Users must have an account as well on the domain controller.

Hello, I think the problem you are having is the Dns issue, the computer you are trying to join to the domain must have the ip address of your dns server as the first DNS address and this should work, if you have any other problem, send me an email and i'll reply you immediately
