vandarsar: You're are still here calling for a govt intervention at a time when all Nigerians are calling for a private sector participation to ensure government is heavily excluded from all sporting activities. Just a take a look at the South African PSL. The majority of of the clubs are owned by the people and managed from funds generated from match day tickets, sponsors, transfer fee and donations from the municipality they are representing.

Just saying, reading what was written on those guy's shirt makes me wanna drink some chill Dubic beer on this hot Sunday afternoon grin grin grin

Now that's what the private sectors gets by investing in the league. You would have also put food on the table of this players and their families provided they can earn good money. Who says I can't forgo Rooney and Torres to watch the Oluyole Worriors in skin??

You didnt get my point. Govt shd make the league attractive by enforcing good managment practices that will attract both fans and sponsors. Having spent many years in SA supporting bloem celtic and pirates,I can say that their govt is has very strong grip on their sports - rugby, cricket & soccer. If Fikile Mbalula is not doing is job well as a minister, Motaung family wont be making such money in amakhozi (Kaizer cheifs) and Majola would have ruin cricket for them. Anyways Sootinnnng still on top. UP SOOTING!!

Sunday: 10 March, 2013
Venue: Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Time: 4 pm

Stars to watch

(3SC) Gbolahan Salami: Enfant Terrible has made a dramatic return to Shooting Stars and has shone in pre-season. He will be one of the shining lights for Shooting Stars once he is on top of his game.

(Gombe) Alhaji Kwaranga: Experienced campaigner who is also skipper of the 'Scorpions' from the Savannah. He still does not wish to stop.

If we can keep supporting our league like this, very soon our league will be delightful to watch as there would be excitement.
God bless Nigeria and our sports industry.

...And next time 3SC are away to Gombe it will be Gombe 2 - 3Sc 0(1)....or at worst it is 0-0, 1-1, or 2-2. As much as I laud the OP's effort to garner recognition for our own league, I still beleive it is a complete waste of time to watch this league when there are other leagues playing to the rule of football. Do me a favour by presenting the full results of Our league for say 4 weeks and show me where a home team lost, then present result of EPL, La Liga or Serie A where no home team lost in the past 4 weeks.

you no nothing about our league, why not learn? How can you be using 10yrs story to judge the league?

Infact, lets even go down your lane, how many of the top clubs in the top league lose at home? Go away with your negative blood, stick to the foreign leagues and leave those who love the local league alone!

Lanspower, please take your time to study the league. Just today being the week 1, we recorded an away win in Owerri between Heartland vs Nembe city which Nembe won. Pls lets support the league.i tell you, the foreign league weren't like this in the past, it's because of its wide followers hip, why can't we support our own. We shall be doing live match cast here every match day, and also expose any team that wants to behave fraudulent. Thank you

Watching the league live was one of the few opportunity I had to relax will studying at the polytechnic Ibadan. I am also committed to this, after watching this game live in the stadium, I made a silent promise to watch at the minimum 10 home games of shooting stars. We do not need to see the likes of Sunday Mba before we appreciate the stars in our league.
Next for me before the next home game is to grab shooting's home jersy.

Let our local teams in the league be playing on a sub-standard pitch, I will continue to support them. It is from the support that we give that will bring out the anomalies in the league. If EPL had not received support, how would it get to Africa in the first place. The issue there is that we should support our own, no matter how low it is.

Kudos to Slankey and Bodeplot.
