Ajibel: We're talking about going public, seems you do not know the difference between going public and having sponsors (shirt/brand). if you're talking about Shirt/Brand sponsorship, Kano Pillars have BUA GROUP sponsoring us already. BUA group produces cement, building materials and services. So my dear, you are on a long thing. we're talking about selling our shares on the floor of the Nigerian market or allowing the fans to have a financial stalk in the club by selling the club to them, just like Lobi stars tried to do sometime ago (Going private though) |

The former Flying Eagles handler has been named the new coach of the Coal City football outfit John Obuh has been appointed the technical adviser of Enugu Rangers Football Club. He takes over from Okey Emordi who resigned his appointment after the just concluded season’s final clash against El Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on October 20. In his reaction to this development, the former Sharks of Port Harcourt gaffer claims it is a huge honour to be assigned the responsibility to handle the side in the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season. “Enugu Rangers are the pride of all southeasterners. Warri Wolves Hold Stakeholders Forum on Tuesday ARTICLE | NOVEMBER 4, 2013 - 2:33PM | BY IKENNA AGU The newly appointed Managing Director of Warri Wolves Davidson Owumi will meet with all the club stakeholders with a view of fashioning a way forward for the Club. Those who are to grace the fact finding mission which is expected to start by 10.00am are the Coaches Association, the State League Board, the State Referees Association, Ex- Footballers and the Media. According to a statement signed by the Media Manager of the Club, Etu Moses, only those who are duly involved in these associations should be present to present their view on the way forward. According to Etu, it is a serious business, the first assignment by the new man saddled with the responsibility of repositioning the Club and as such, the Management will only accredit those who will play significant role in the discussions. “ Let me make it clear that the new Managing Director is very serious with this stakeholders meet and as such will welcome only those who have a role to play by coming up with useful suggestions on the way forward. He is not coming to listen to why Mr A did this and why Mr B did that. He wants to hear how the Club can move forward and this is an opportunity for all to contribute before the season starts. I want to advise all stakeholders to turn up in large numbers on time and be seated by 10.00am.’ Meanwhile, Etu has enjoined the fans and all well wishers to wait for the official communication channel of the Club for any information as regards changes or any other thing that will unfold as we prepare for the coming season. “I am saying that nothing has happened in the Club apart from the appointment of the new board. This is because a particular newspaper has been coming out with false stories as regards the Coaching crew and other things. As soon as anything happens, you will be informed adequately so any other news is mere rumour

Nigeria: NFF, Sports Minister Rejects Club Owners' Purported Sack of League Management Company 2 November 2013 , By Aderonke Ogunleye, Source: Premium Times The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and the Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, have rejected a declaration by owners/ managers of clubs in the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, 'sacking' the League Management Company (LMC), which the NFF inaugurated last year to administer the elite division of Nigeria's domestic football. Rising from its meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, October 30, the club owners/managers, in their communique, declared, "The meeting emphasised on the expiration of the tenure of the LMC in line with the terms of reference given to them by the NFF. "The meeting specifically thanked the chairman and members of the LMC for their efforts in organising the just- concluded league, as well as their several innovations and suggestions on the way forward, and wished them well in their future endeavours." However, NFF President, Aminu Maigari, stated emphatically that the LMC remained in place. Speaking from the United Arab Emirates, where the Golden Eaglets are battling to make Nigeria the first country to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup four times, Mr. Maigari insisted that the LMC was inaugurated by the NFF, granted license by the NFF to administer the Premier League on its behalf, and could only be sent packing by the NFF. "I am shocked to hear about a meeting of club owners/ managers where they reportedly told the LMC to hand over to the Secretariat of the League. That is not within their purview; it is the responsibility of the NFF to determine the fate of the LMC. "The LMC has done very well within the past 10 months to reposition the Premier League, and they deserve commendation. The club managers themselves admitted that the LMC has brought several innovations to the running of the League. Why would we want to throw all that away in a hurry? "As far as the NFF, the supreme football-governing body in Nigeria, is concerned, the LMC remains firmly in place and will have the opportunity to continue its good works for a period to be determined shortly," Mr. Maigari insisted. He called on the club owners/ managers to focus on improving the structures of their teams in line with the demands of professional football, rather than get sucked into illusory political manoeuvrings and hysteria. "Sincerely speaking, the NFF will always accord the club owners/ managers their regard and we see them as critical stakeholders in the development of the game in our country. But there is an architecture of authority, which is not horizontal. The NFF has prerogative on issues bordering on the running of the game in Nigeria and has not conceded this authority to any other group or body. "Should the club managers have any grouse with the way the League is being administered, they should approach the NFF with their misgivings and we would resolve such matters, as we have done in the past," Mr. Maigari said. The Sports Minister, Mr. Abdullahi also showered praises on the LMC, saying, "They have gotten money for the league even the clubs themselves are sharing money - sharing dollars - and they said (LMC) should go; where do they want them to go to? The people that brought the money (sponsors) will say, hope their money will not be wasted. I support the NFF's decision. (club owners/managers) should relax and face their clubs." However, the club owners have said that they would proceed with the electoral process. |

Crown FC of Ogbomosho have started initiating plans to recruit new players ahead of the upcoming season. The club who recently regained promotion to the topflight have just concluded a two-week long players screening exercise, after which a fair number of players were pencilled down for potential recruitment. In a statement released by the club's media officer Kunle Oyeleye, it was stated that from amongst the players who impressed at the screening exercise, a final selection of players will be made later, based on their performance in the NNL Super Four. It was further revealed that the idea behind the screening exercise was to give an opportunity to talented youths to exhibit their potentials and try their luck with the team. Crown FC who were relegated in the 2010/11 season regained promotion to the Glo Premier League after finishing on top of the Group B table of the Nigeria National League (NNL). |

John Obuh appears to be on a collision course with Enugu Rangers over contractual disagreements. The former Flying Eagles coach was recently unveiled by the management of the Flying Antelopes, as a replacement for Okey Emordi, who resigned at the end of the season. But in spite of the hype surrounding Obuh's appointment, the former Sharks and Kwara United gaffer is reportedly yet to put pen to paper with the Enugu State- owned club, for whom he starred in his playing days. Sources close to the coach have revealed that while Rangers are intent on offering a one-year- deal, Obuh is holding out for a contract with at least a two year duration. The source further disclosed that Obuh is not short of offers and may move on if necessary as Akwa United are also keen to bring him to Uyo, but the tactician however has his heart set on managing Rangers next season.

Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have revealed that Warri Wolves will be the fourth team to fly Nigeria's flag on the continent next season. There has been controversy over who would take the continental ticket after Enyimba finished second in the League thus picking a CAF Champions League ticket and relinquished their CAF Confederation Cup ticket after they won the Federation Cup. Three seasons ago, Warri Wolves benefitted from a dubious NFF decision that saw Sharks denied a CAF Confederation Cup ticket after emerging as Federation Cup beaten finalists with eventual winners Dolphins emerging double champions. However, the NFF instead of handing Sharks the ticket for the Federation Cup, awarded Warri Wolves the fourth continental ticket after they finished fourth on the Premier league table. "If there was a mistake in the past, we will not continue in the error. The rules are very clear on who represent countries on the continent," a top NFF official said. "When the winner of the Federation Cup wins the league or finishes in the CAF champions League region, then the Federation Cup runners-up gets the ticket if so presented by the National association, so I don't see any form of controversy here. It is simple and clear who picks the fourth ticket."
