guy you need to know the rules of the game.
it was assumed that the goal keeper was wasting time
and the caution for such act is yellow card but the confused referee awarded an indirect free kick in the 18 yard.
and for indirect free kick to be counted as goal it must at least touch a third party which did not happen as the free kick when in straight to the net. of cause the referee initially said its not a goal based on the rule.
but suddenly the Abia players rushed him.... in that panick state he changed his mind and said it was a goal
at this point Dolphine have to protest and stoped playing.
because it was obviouse they want to win by all means........

football is about rules not a win by all cost.
no wonder its difficult to have away win in our league

Bros, once again you got it wrong

The goalkeeper actually wasted time(not assumed). Even Collin Udoh acknowledged that.
I was listening to the match update on NigeriaInfo and Radio Portharcout and this was how the indirect free kick was scored as described by Collin Udoh: The first player that was to take it touched the ball with his leg (though the ball did not roll) before a second player fired the shot that went straight into the net. He(Collin Udoh) said he would call an experienced retired referee to confirm whether that should stand as a good goal. He later called back the radio station to confirm that it was a good goal, but his problem was that the referee hesitated for about ten seconds before confirming it as a goal.

In fact, I started to respect Collin Udoh and Radio Porthacourt for an unbiased assessment.

If stakeholders of the club can acknowledge that as a clean goal, I wonder how anyone else should think otherwise.

while i will not want to overflog this issue

it is known world over that when a team is winning or drawing a match they will slow the game to at least go home wth a point.
and by the rule its either a warning or yellow card to the keeper not indirect free kick.

ok in the EPL Chealsea does it a lot in fact they even pack the bus so to say.
to get an away point. how many indirect free kick did we see.

lets just think on how to promote our league not all these win by all cost

I came to this conclusion when Rangers lost the league title to them at the back door some years back.

Another fan of a losing club, do you mean Kano pillars are being given free points and that they don't win their matches?

Did all clubs beat them home and away, yet they get awarded points for this?

I expect intelligent response from you people o and not this beer parlor rumour like say una be uneducated palm wine tapper talking about how the central bank works.

I'm specifically talking about that season when they stole the crown from rangers. There's no iota of doubt that Kano Pillars is a very good team and arguably the best at the moment and they deserve most of their wins thus far. I take nothing away from them. But is till want them to lose though.

How did they steal the crown now? the clubs that pulled out of the league aren't even northern clubs, the people in charge of the NPL then were not northerners incase people think they influenced the decisions, so please how did they steal the crown?

If it was another club that was topping then, they would have also benefitted from the point deductions, so forget that thing!

The title race continues with a
neck-to-neck situation as Warri
Wolves have kept pace with Kano
Pillars.
And Nembe City made an
emphatic statement in the
relegation scrap against Kaduna
United while the Oriental Derby
produced just a goal.
Here is the round-up of the Glo
Premier League for this match
day:

Kano Pillars 2-0 Gombe United

The defending champions, Kano
Pillars, continue to set the pace at
the top of the table with a 2-0
win over Gombe United. Their
captain and goalkeeper, Joel
Afelokhai and Ubong Moses
Ekpai scored for Pillars.

Sunshine Stars 2-0 Crown FC

Tunde Adeniji and Kingsley
Eduwo scored for Sunshine Stars
as they claimed the points in the
southwest derby against Crown
FC 2-0. Sunshine are now in
eighth place while Crown remain
in 19th

.
Dolphins 1-0 El-Kanemi
Warriors

It took Omo Johnson to come off
the bench and score the winner
for Dolphins against El-Kanemi in
the 81st minute. Dolphins are
now fifth on the table with 51
points and El-Kanemi are in 13th
position.

FC Taraba 2-1 Akwa United
FC Taraba got into a two-lead
through Olusola Ajala and Usman
Mohammed in the first half. But
Akwa United could only pull one
back from Kufre Ebong in the
61st minute. FC Taraba climb to
15th spot while Akwa United are
a position ahead of the Jalingo-
based club.

Enyimba 3-1 Nasarawa United

Mfon Udoh scored a brace for
Enyimba and missed the chance
to net a hat-trick by failing to
convert a penalty. Emeka Nwanna
made it three for Enyimba in the
68th minute before Seun
Sogbeso scored from the spot
for Nasarawa United in the 72nd
minute. Enyimba move into third
place and Nasarawa drop to
number six.

Nembe City 4-0 Kaduna United

It was the Okiki Musampa show
as he helped himself to a hat-
trick while Chinze Ugwu also got
among the goals as Nembe
defeated Kaduna United 4-0. But
Nembe still remain bottom of the
table and Kaduna United are
third from bottom.

Abia Warriors 2-0 Bayelsa

United
The duo of Peter Onyekachi and
Bishop Onyeudo scored for Abia
Warriors to win 2-0 against
Bayelsa United. Warriors are now
in fourth position with 51 points.
Bayelsa United remain in the
bottom four.

Warri Wolves 3-0 Lobi Stars

Former Kwara United striker, Abu
Azeez scored twice and Joseph
Osadiaye added a third as Wolves
made sure that they kept the
chase on Kano Pillars at the top
of the table with a 3-0 win over
Lobi Stars. Wolves are in second
place with 55 points, one behind
league leaders, Kano Pillars.

Rangers 1-0 Heartland

Super Eagles striker Osaguona
Ighodaro returned to the
Rangers team and scored the
winning goal that shot the Flying
Antelopes into the top ten.
Heartland are turned back
without nothing in the Oriental
Derby.

Giwa FC 0-0 Sharks

The game was stalemated at a
goalless draw just after the hour
mark when the referee awarded
a spot kick to Giwa FC.
