We recently started a blog to promote the Yoruba culture aptly called http://theyorubablog.com

The blog is supposed to show case Yoruba folklore, Yoruba stories and so on. The problem I'm finding is that it seems nearly impossible to trigger interest in traditional issues. Why don't people realize that Nigerian languages can only be preserved if we write them down - writing about our modern experiences in our old tongue? How is it not obvious that culture is preserved very heavily by language?

I will be happy if readers of this post visit the site and say what is being done wrong by posting here, or of course, share ideas for what people want to see on a blog that would both promote Yoruba culture and intrigue young people enough for them to keep coming back.

SUPPORT THIS AFRICAN SUPERHERO FILM

I want to let you know about [Oya: Rise of the Orish a, a superhero movie based upon the as Orishas!
We plan to take these famous deities and resurrect them for the modern age.
It will feature multiple orishas including Oya, Ogun and Shango as SUPERHEROES.
We are aiming to do, what Thor and 300 did for greek and Norse mythology.
ITS TIME THAT RICH AFRICAN MYTHOLOGY WAS PACKAGED AND SHOWN TO THE WORLD IN HE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO.

YOU CAN GET INVOLVED TO HELP MAKE THIS FILM HAPPEN.
I am currently running a crowd-funding campaign to film a taster which will be used as a visual appetizer for feature film funders.
The link for the crowdfund is http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/oya-rise-of-the-orisha--2
