However, when he had to embark on his first trip to London for a well paid show and was denied visa because he could not proof he was an artiste of the record label he quickly rushed back to his boss and it was agreed that he would sign the contract which he initially turned down and as soon as he returned from his trip, a new contract would be drafted. However, months after returning and with several mentioning of the new contract and nothing said or done, the artiste decided to go on with the two-year contract, which he signed.

Though he continued, the young man had already made up his mind that he would not renew his contract. His decision was cemented when his parents became curious and started asking him how much he was really making and he had very little knowledge of the contract between him and his record label.

Hence, when he called off the renewal deal and floated his Star Boy Entertainment, his parents supported him and refused all pleas for an intervention. Hence, things totally fell apart between Banky W and his protégé.

Initially, when the whole drama started, Banky W thought his cash cow would turn around after some threats, but after realising that even pleas were not working and the young man had made up his mind to walk away, he decided to take a more drastic line of action that saw him totally alienate the good-boy-gone-bad from his latest album.

A source revealed that before the whole issue started, Banky W had completed his R&B album on which he featured WizKid in two of his songs. However, he decided to drop the tracks when it became obvious there was no turning back for WizKid. If that is surprising, it will surprise you more that he had to destroy millions of naira worth CD jackets which had already been printed because of the decision to drop WizKid from the album. The source who is a close associate of the EME boss revealed said that was the sacrifice they had to make insisting they could not continue to promote the young man after his actions.

As the whole puzzle gets unraveled, the questions being asked in some quarters is, what implications will these developments have on EME as a record label? Would Banky W be able to carry on with the momentum created by WizKid because unlike when two stars and two struggling artistes make up the label, presently the only artiste who would appeal to anybody is Banky W.

With Niyola and Skales yet to establish themselves musically, the walkout of WizKid might just be the beginning of the end of EME, as it was with the defunct Mohit which even had better entertainers.

Meanwhile, as the probable fall of EME is being speculated, another poser by observers is the likelihood that WizKid would succeed on his own, as speculations are that he might not just be able to manage fame and success like Banky W did for him while at EME. As a new era begins for EME and Star Boy Entertainment, only time will tell who will.

Now I can perceive de fresh air around me with this complete news. One thing for sure is dat as a label mate or an artist wit a recording company, yu use the record label to be the oga yu want to be. Most of these RL always try to milk most talent artist dry. It happened wit 2face n kennis. Now its Wizzy n EME. This will certainly lead to de death of EME in de naija urban music scene.

I had a feeling he was just milking Wizkid all the while he was on EME records.
I support Wizkid leaving Banky's record label. Even if he is not as successful as he was on EME it is still ok because at least he is no longer some body's cash cow.
