Most especially their call centre formerly in ABUJA but now in IBADAN, former KINGSWAY BUILDING OPPOSITE RADIO NIGERIA IBADAN which is run by SPANCO CHANNEL BPO FOR AIRTEL NIGERIA are enslaving GRADUATES especially THOSE WITH BSC, MSC, MBA, OND, HND, SSCE are all treated equally.

The MAXIMUM SALARY IS 46000 NAIRA MONTHLY with LITTLE OR NO BENEFITS AT ALL. MTN employs basically BSC and HND for their call centre. THey give allowance of FREE STAFF LINE AND 6000 NAIRA credit monthly. AIRTEL DOES NOT GIVE THIS AT ALL TO THIER CALL CNTRE AGENTS. They treat them as slaves, pigs and people that does not matter at all in the society. MTN demands 6HOURS from each agents while AIRTEL DEMANDS 9HOURS from each agents yet they are the lowest paid in the telecommunications world. ALso,when an agent is sick even on the sick bed,they require you to come to work, while in MTN all you need is call the TEAMLEADER and he or she would note you called in sick. ETISALAT, GLO, MTN all give allowances to their agents and don't treaat them as trash because they are the core people in the industry. They communicate with customers and also give accurate information about the company's products and services, solve problem for customers. Shouldn't they be treated rightly and fair enough? The lowest salary u can get as an agent in MTN is 70000 while in airtel, its 35000. Why? Why? Why?

The number of hours of work is too much, makes the job more stressful and demanding. The supervisors are harsh, give attitude, feel ontop of the world as if they didn't start from somewhere. The Allowance for training would be given to new agents when airtel feels like. It might not evn be paid at all. MORNING SHIFT FOR AIRTEL IS 7am-4pm sometimes 5pm. Is this called morning shift? While MTN is 7am-1pm. MAD INDIANS. DOING ALL THESE THINGS BECAUSE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE COUNTRY. YOUR GENERATIONS ARE CURSED ALREADY IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE. NCC!!!KEEP THE BAD WORK UP.

You forgot to include the 200 call target per shift (yes per shift including night shift, and they expect the agent to attend to the customer for an average of 2min per call), afternoon shif 11 am to 8pm, and other yeye clauses they included.

Yes!!!Incases of irate customers,they expect u to talk to that customer for 2mins and if u don't give accurate info,u would be marked down.11 to 8pm while Mtn's afternoon shift is 1:30pm to 6:30.Just 6hours.In airtel,even after making your 8hours,they still expect u to stay logged on going to 9hours over 35000 Naira monthly.No free staff line,no benefits whatsoever.Even the so called medicals they are offering is nonsense.When you get there,the hospital would tell you to go.A bsc graduate receiving 35000 along with ssce individuals.

It will have gotten better if only we had good incorruptible leaders in this country who actually place a high value on their citizens. It is very simple to get these Indians to stop misbehaving. With spanco it can only get worse!! When we protested sometime in oct 2011, so many goofs here on nairaland were defending dr actions & calling dem notable investors who wants to provide jobs to our teeming youths. And today we're now reaping the investment in larger proportions as it now affects us directly or indirectly. We nevr expected anything better to come out of Spanco because they've alwys showed that they wr not interstd in staff welfare other than meeting ur log on duration and d unrealistic average handling time. But of course we gav dem what dey want by kalo-kalo methods... & u cud guess the outcome; quality service declined. But honstly they were not bothered abt quality but rathr on the number of calls u picked because that's what airtel pays them for; which xplains why dey'll do anytin to make sure u're picking calls evn while on d sickbed.

The supervisors & team leaders wr nice & lovly as agents, but i believ what cud hav generated ds new trait in dem will definitly b d pressure they're receiving frm d indians. Honstly am realy touchd wit what u guyz are goin tru cos we had access to all the basic things u mentioned here not because dey wr benevolent but because it was inherited frm Zain & they cudnt throw it out jus like dat without facing comfrontatn frm us. Env d 9hrs log on duration now is evn higher dan what was obtained earlier & yet d salary is not compared to what we earned.

That was d reason dey decided to pay us off, relocate to ibadan wr they can access cheap labour because dey felt dey wr payin too much in abuja, & start up with new crop of agents who dey felt they can manipulate witout resistance. But we alwys knew that it was not goin to last 4evr because one day d agents will realise dr worth, & how badly slaved they've been caged by ds merciless paymasters & probablly tk necessary steps to correct it.... Pls dnt wait 4ur team leaders & managers because dey have little or nothin to do abt it. Dey wr employed by d indians jus like u, & will do evrytin to protect their jobs. Get affiliated to a union body that can champion ur course properly wit all support & logistics frm d NLC. And wit God on ur side, u sure can create a change.

Welcome to the world of airtel, where everything they do is about profit and only profit...I would not want to agree with some points you made with regard to MTN, because some of them are not true, talking from experience, you only get those full benefits if you a employed by the parent company which is MTN, and with 80% of there call center contracted out, its no more like that. Only 20% of MTN staff enjoys majority of the benefits stated above. But even at that the call center been contracted out bt MTN still enjoys far far better than airtel...I guess its high time you guys involve NLC and other relevant unions to fight your course...

Involvin Nlc or whatever union may get d whole of u sacked and u wil be left wit nothin dan 2 start searchin all ova again. Dis was what happened 2 us in mtn jos call center. We were bin paid 35k so we involved Nlc and form a union 2 fight our course. This got us all sacked abt 1700 of us and d call center shut til date. Next month wil make it a year and most of us are stil searchin. In fact i wish d struggle neva started in d first place. So think before u abt cos Nlc nor d govt may not be able 2 come ur aid as ppl thing. Just a little advice
