by converting from injector to carb..u hv rendered ur ecm/brainbox useless...thus there is no control over the fuel consumption.there is lil u cud do , apart from maybe manually adjusting the carb to reduce the flow of petrol..all in all..it isnt such a great idea converting ur car

All the mechanics around me seem to prefer replacing the injector engine with a carburator. The ECM ends up getting fried in the process. The cars seem to work fine but there's always going to be side effects of this switch.

I don't even know where to start, with regards advice and a possible solution.

You converted your reliable, efficient fuel-injection system for a thirsty, inefficient carburetor that probably came out of Noah's ark.

Why do you guys permit local roadies to ruin your cars?? I just don't get it. I've said it till I'm blue in the face, I've shouted myself hoarse - a fuel-injected motor has very different fuel requirements to a carburetted one. Sure, it'll run, but it'll never be right. Under fuelling at high rpm will damage piston crowns, they'll eventually melt.

Over fuelling at low rpm will cause bore wash, and oil-fuel dilution. The result is oil broken down, with zero viscosity, as useful and as protective as vegetable oil in your engine. And a ruined crank, big-end and main bearings, the motor banging its brains out.

You must love being bent over by your "mechanic", and feeling the prickly end of a pineapple. Out of interest, how much does this downgrade conversion cost?

The deed has been done already, I need to manage the present system. Good advice will be appreciated.

I'll give you good advice - it may not be what you want to hear, but I'm a realist. Unless you didn't read all I posted above. That set-up will damage your engine long term. No if's or but's.

Get your car to a COMPETENT garage to revert back to the OEM fuel-injected set-up. I can't stress how important this is. How you process advice is obviously down to you.

Sometimes i wonder why people don't take time to get more info before making decisions. I've met poeple who say their mechanic advised them to change an injector to a carburetor. The first question i like to ask them is, who is wiser? your mechanic who sit by the road side or the engineers who design the car. Out of frustation they never understand my point.

It's very dumb to make changes like this to your car. instead sell the car and get a 1980 car that uses carburetor!!

At this Internet age, you still listen to quacks No reasonable mechanic would ask you to swap new to Old, like the previous poster said, U just killed ur car, what you have done is replace a Dog heart with a goat's one, by the way you never told us what make and model plus age of the said car.
