Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will face no action from the FA over his two-footed tackle on Chelsea's David Luiz.

The Blues' Argentinian forward drew criticism for his lunge at the Chelsea defender during City's 2-1 FA Cup semi-final win.

But referee Chris Foy awarded a free-kick at the time and the FA will not go back over the incident.

Both of Aguero's boots made contact with the upper part of Luiz's left leg but under current FA rules only off-the-ball incidents or those viewed as "exceptional" - which would, for example, warrant more than a three-match ban - are dealt with retrospectively.

I just read this comment on dailymail and it explains the whole thing.

[b]Can all you foamers just take a minute to to think about it. Look at the respective disciplinary records of the two players involved. I can't really remember Aguero committing a foul while playing for City. Certainly nothing nasty. Now look at Luiz's record. The guy is a lunatic. He deliberately tries to hurt the opposition forwards every time he makes a challenge. And it's usually a cheap shot, like the three or four he sent Aguero's way on Sunday. The cowardly elbow when he thought he could get away with it turned out to be a big mistake. It was the final straw for Aguero who sought retribution. Retaliation is not premeditated. It is spur of the moment stuff. Both players should have been sent off, as should Torres for going down the back of Aguero's leg. That was premeditated. The guy that tripped Toure just as he was going to score should also have seen red according to the letter of the law. In the end, the right result was achieved because the best team won.

I am still in awe watching that amazing block by Pantilimon (the Romanian giant). It was definitely a memorable game especially with two lovely goals from Aguero and Demba Ba.
