You don't have to be confused, the Bible is a good book, you just have to apply wisdom to the things you read in it and don't allow Christians to brainwash you, they only like quoting verses to enslave those who are gullible.

I hope you know that the old and new testament are two different dispensations and very many laws changed between them. And not eating the forbidden fruit was a clear and direct command from God which they gladly disobeyed.

U should not read the bible like novel but with the understanding granted by the holyspirit. Its not abt the fruit but its significance which is disobedience and rebellion.

Saul made the same mistake and was overthrown wen he went contrary to God order by sparing the king and animals for burnt offering. In our present day God is still searching our heart for motives and intention of our deeds. For every disobedience to His word there is a prize.

But he has shed His blood to redeem us and sent the holyspirit to help us live right by his word and strenghten us while liberating us from lifestyle of sin.
