my vw golf 3 behaves funny, it had problem with temperature switch which i think also controls firing. All efforts to replace it failed, each 1 u bring will either be smooth on firing & do not show temperature signal or the reverse. It has since been disconnected partilly allowing it work on temperature metre,it doesn't jerk again but i think it consumes fuel @ high rate,thou moves smoothly. 2ndly if u travel an hr to 2hrs distance,off the engine it wouldn't start immediately,doesn't turn engine @ dt moment, but start after cooling for 30mins to 1hr. Pls any idea to help? |

Please can anybody help me out?am looking of buying a car with automatic & AC . Golf3,nassan,etc Take ds as a key guide -Very durable -Affordable to maintain. -Automatic -AC will be used all times. -some time will b taken from eg Lagos to PH Occasionally. Thanks |

This said golf 3 goes off on motion, & restarts immediately. It's 1992 model, 2.0 engine with fuel injection system. It was also rough idling. Meanwhile it has no OBD port, so can not be scanned. The air flow meter was changed which controlled the rough idling but still goes off on motion. However it doesn't go off on motion if CT switch is disconnected( suggested by a mechanic though). PLEASE ANY IDEA TO SOLVING THIS PROBLEM WILL BE APPRECIATED. Pls share an idea if you have. |

I need serious help here. I have a golf 3 (Pink Floyd) 1994 Model. For some time now i have been experiencing jerking with the car. Mechanics say it's electrical and electricians say it's mechanical. It got to point that the jerking was so bad that the car hardly moves. My instincts tells me that something must have been wornout but i can't say for sure. Please experts, i need advice.
