The caribbean sea is actually within the Atlantic ocean, it is not seperate. The borders are the Gulf of Mexico, the Coast of the South American and Central American countries, the bottom southern side of the islands Cuba , Hispanola & Puerto Rico and the west side of the lesser Antilles Islands.
