The Institute for Fraud Management and Control (IFMC) is committed and focused to fighting fraud and corruption with research and trainings. Our objectives are to articulate, facilitate, and fund research on fraud and help develop, build a statistic foundation that will increase the body of knowledge and improve anti-fraud activities.
In pursuing our objectives and to ensure that our desired impact and influence, in reducing fraud and corruption in Nigeria is achieved, we are organizing the First Lagos Anti-Fraud Conference: EKO 2013 with the theme: “How resistant is the Nigerian Banking Industry to fraud, corruption and loss of resources’’. This conference has been carefully thought out and packaged for a time like this to create a platform to effectively and sincerely address the issue of fraud and corruption in the Nigerian banking sector.
The conference theme, faculty and structure were carefully chosen to surpass expectations of stakeholders. The event is planned to be declared open by the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Finance, Dr. Yerima Lawan Ngama, under the chairmanship of Mr. Atedo N. Peterside, MON (Chairman, Stanbic-IBTC Bank Plc).The Guests of Honours are Mr. Adetukombo Abiro (Commissioner for Finance, Lagos state) and Mrs. Nkechi Nwogu (Chairman, Senate committee on Banking). The Lead Speaker is Mal. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Governor Central Bank of Nigeria), while the other conference faculties are: Mr. Ayantude Ogunsakin (Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, Lagos), Mr. Ladi Balogun (Group Managing Director/CEO, FCMB) and Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim (Chairman, Board of Commissioners, Corporate Affairs Commission)
This conference has been carefully thought out, packaged for a time like this to create a platform to effectively and sincerely address the issue of fraud and corruption in the Nigeria banking sector. Our expectation is for every well meaning Nigerian to participate in this all important conference. There shall also be induction of new members from different sectors into the different categories of the institute.
