Ok, so im starting this hair journey from Relaxed to Texlaxed, Brittle/Damaged/dandruff ridden to Healthy/Beautiful/Shiny Nigerian Hair and i decided i needed serious tips from pros who've gone through what i've gone through, seen setbacks, didn't give up and came out triumphant so who better to ask find me these 'pros' than Google.
After hours upon hours, days upon days of going through sites, asian hair blogs, caucasian hair blogs, i decided i'd focus more on Afrcan hair blogs because obviously im African and i can relate to them.
So, in my opinion these are the TOP AFRICAN HAIR BLOGS that i felt catered to my fears, my wants, my hopes and my dreams of having Beautiful, healthy African hair

1. Naija Hair Can Grow- www.naijahaircangrow..com
why i chose her blog? She's Nigerian (so you know she representin'). Lives in Lagos and buys all her hair products from NIGERIA and can tell you where to get all your hair products from. But you first have to subscrib!

2. Just Grow Already- www.justgrowalread.com
why? So detailed! She explains the whole process in such an understandable way that even a 5 year old would get it! LOL! I love her hair regimen! I love that she's put so much hard work into it! and... just everything!! you need to go to her website and read thoroughly to get what i'm trying to say!! I LOve her dedication to hair care!!

3. African Hair Blog- http://africanhairblog.com/

4. African Naturalistas-http://www.africanaturalistas.com/ And for all the REAL NATURALISTAS out there this one is just for YOU
why? You transitioning from relaxed/texlaxed to Natural? Want to rock what your mama gave you? Proud to be Black and Beautiful? Check out Africannaturalistas.com and get updates on how to moisturise the unmoisturizable, detagle the undetangable, grow to APL ( arm pit length and even LONGER) the ungrowable!!!!! This site carefully guides you to beautiful and wellmanaged afro hair with easy do hair styles and more!!

5. Grow African Hair Long- http://growafricanhairlong..com/
why? They say 2 heads are better than one and these two Kenyan sistas (bioloogically too) have show excatly why! Their blog is full on all you need to know about hair care, they hold nothing back and hide nothing from their readers! I love their passion, their honesty and their determination! and wish them a succesful journey!

6. Fresh Length- http://freshlengths..co.uk/
why? Because she's another very dedicated hair care specialist (in my opinion :p, plus she knows a thing or two about Fashion. Plus i loveee her cheekbones!! They are TO. DIE. FOR! Ahhh (fainting)

7. Black Girl Long Hair-http://blackgirllonghair.com/
why? Just in case we still have a lot of Thomas the doubtfuls out there, this blog shows you thousands of African women ALL OVER THE GLOBE being interviewed about their regimen.
So whether your rocking an afro, still relaxed/texlaxed, or transitioning this website would be #thewaytogo

8.The Black Hair Diary-http://theblackhairdiary..com/
why? Cos She Can Do Bad All By Herself! LOL! I love how she's rocking natural hair, documenting her every hair journey on youtube and giving us updates on her blog, plus she sells Natural Hair Products!! Naturally!! LOL! and my best part? Her FAQ page on her blog is very helpful especially with newbies who need help trying to understand hair terminology

My dear, I solidly behind you on this long hair quest. I have very short hair, like 4 inches, been struggling with it since. It just keeps cutting, I finally started a castor oil treatment, I think its working. If my hair can just get to shoulder lenght. I would be so happy.
Re: Inspiring Hair Blogs! African Hair CAN GROW! by hermosa(f): 12:53pm On Jun 16, 2013

Hey ladies,

Just started my long hair journey too. Call me over ambitious - but I'm aiming at Mid back length tongue (Bra hook length)by the end of this year.

trimmed my ends middle of may , did my last relaxer in the beginning of February, just did my first Texlaxing ( relaxing the new growth only for 3 minutes while I applied deep conditioners to the sectioned ends that are already relaxed, and then wash off)

the picture on the right in the pink straps was after I trimmed the ends in may. the picture on the left was taken last week.

You need to see my bathroom
I am now officially a hair product junkie, But not to over load my hair with junk as this may be too much for the hair ,I use moisturizers and oils mostly everyday.. ( olive oil,Almond Oil or Coconut Oil) to seal in the moisturizer.

@babestell and
@hermosa
i'm joining you guys as your buddy if you are on twitter we can also follow each other on there (TWITTER HANDLE IS @P_T_A_W) or on my Blog below... I will also be sharing affordable products to use and techniques I use to keep my hair growing on here.

Hey Y'all!
I started my hair Journey in August last year after getting motivation from some blogs and one Website in particular: http://thirstyroots.com/. Learnt so much from them i decided to chop off all my split end. Was left with about less than 4 inches of her but its growing! I take pics of my hair journey after every relaxing regimen ...to keep me motivated. I do believe black can grow.

I want to learn a lot about hair products please.....what's the best leave-in conditioner that can easily be purchased in Nigeria?

hermosa: @uzoo you got it in Nigeria? I work in Abuja, you think I can find it here in my city?

@hermosa
Unfortunately i haven't seen any store that carries the JOICO products or HERBAL ESSENCES products in Nigeria.I got mine in the states.

If you are not in a hurry to use it ,You can try and order using a shipper ,It could take a few weeks or less.

@vivicious vivi
I Recently got this INCREDIBLY RICH OIL MOISTURIZING HAIR LOTION BY ORS ,(see picture below)just used it earlier
and i think its good .

It acts as a leave in conditioner for me while still keeping my hair moisturised. My hair is constantly in need of moisture for easy combing and styling because i've got really dry and coarse hair. With this ,i don't think i'll be needing to seal with the oils i have ,(maybe occasionally) will watch and see how it goes.

Ladies, don't forget to use a clarifying shampoo every 2 to 4 weeks to get rid of build up by hair products you use for your hair.....I didnt know that either.

please keep all your hair growth tips coming, the journey is going on smoothly smiley

Try out Aunt Jackie's hair products, very organic and free of petroleum, sulfate, mineral etc And smells so good, I use the Oh So Clean! once a month to shampoo my hair, and In Control for Conditioning-Wash on a regular basis. I also use Organics Cholesterol with Tea Tree Oil for Co-Wash...my favorite in fact, my hair gets so soft from this. Once I'm done washing, I use a table spoon size of the Organics cholesterol + Curl la la for my hair cream.

What is silica rich bamboo tea?
Bamboo tea is a light refreshing tea made from the leaves & stems of young bamboo plants.
The bamboo plant is the fastest growing tree in the world. Some varieties can grow as much as 3 feet in a day. Bamboo is also known for its strength. It’s been said that, pound for pound, bamboo has greater tensile strength than steel. Imagine drinking the wonderful properties of this amazing plant.
Horsetail tea has 5-8% silica versus the bamboo plant which is made up of 70% silica. This makes bamboo tea a powerful hair, skin and nails supplement when consumed daily.
Check out what this customer had to say on a popular forum:
Default Re: Biotin, Silica or MSM — does one work better?
I agree with what the previous posters said about silica. Have not tried biotin as a supplement on its own to form an opinion. I have been using MSM for over a year and although I love MSM for the internal health benefits plus softening of new growth, however, it had no impact in lessening the shedding and breakage. I recently went through a period of intense shedding and subsequent breakage brought on by the use of Wen. I tried a bunch of things, henna, cassia, black tea rinses, garlic conditioners and although I saw some reduced shedding, none of these stopped the shedding completely until I incorporated silica in my diet by drinking bamboo tea. As stated above, bamboo has high levels of silica. I started drinking bamboo leaf tea approx 30 days ago and the result was immediate. Over time, I noticed that my hair felt stronger, less fragile and prone to breakage and the shedding has completely stopped. My wash day has seen significant decrease in breakage when detangling. My nails also grew like weeds. Best of all the bamboo tea taste so nice and mild that I can drink cup a day which is enjoyable to me. I purchased the bamboo leaf tea from a blogger named Nadege over at relaxed hair health. Here is the link if you’re interested…http://organicherbalbamboo..co.uk/. If you visit the site, you’ll find out more about the benefits of incorporating silica in your diet to improve hair health. I truly love the stuff and will always have as part of my diet. Happy Hair Growing.
………………………………………………………………………………
One more….. smiley
Those are just a couple of examples, many have shared their experience of enjoying glowing skin, improved digestion, and even weight loss from regular consumption of this amazing tea. Bamboo tea is truly a beauty tea. Best of all, drinking organic bamboo tea allows for immediate absorption into the blood stream. No digestion required.
Take the 30 DAY BAMBOO TEA CHALLENGE! Your hair, skin and nails will thank you.
