We were dressed like it was christmas
Hundreds of us in droves
some in shoes others in slippers
From all corners of Nigeria
We were brought together
From all walks and areas
For one purpose we did gather
Jst for Jamb
Some with smiles,others with frowns
Some with purpose others not so sure
some with sweat on their brows
others trying to resist the allure
Of d excitement dat was in the air
some walkd in crowds
some walked in pairs
some the look on their face so proud
All of us just one aim
To write Jamb
You could jst single out the geeks
With their head buried in books
For more knowledge they seeked
it was tension at its peak
You could single out the sabi guys
With their powerful phones
To the pretty ones only did they say "hi"
So similar did they seem,like clones
Den came the celebrity wannabe's
All coloured out in tight pants
practically screaming "look at me"
with t-shirts nd Bruno Mars' hats
Then came the Agbani Daregos
The thin and the not so thin
I looked and them nd was lyk "leggo"
all of them busy exchangin pins
All around the tension was so thick
I could almost touch it
All of us wanted to reach the peak
all of us practically champing on the bit
In2 d exam hall we went
each with their own weapons
the urge to win we all felt
All inhibitions almost gone
Papers well hidden in tight crevices
Already made answers on devices
90% of us got d same phone
Nokia torchlight
d most expendable for expos
D officials turned a blind eye
so the leaders of tommorrow cud pass
Naija nor dey carry last
was the phrase I kept on hearing
Den came d end nd I breathed "at last"
some students started cheering
so sure of wat dey wrote
some were almost crying
whether for joy or not
I cudn't say but then again
It wasn't my business
Relief flowed in ma veins,
I was finally healed of this dreaded disease
as I called it:: jamb sickness
